That´s good to hear! So if you are curious to try expensive tubes like the Tele 801S, you only need to invest in one. But at the same time this means that the triodes need to be perfectly balanced inside the tube as each triode will cater for one channel. That´s pretty tough to find with NOS tubes.- Emperyan

That´s a really unique room shape and speaker placement. It´s hardly comparable to normal room setups. You wrote that you auditioned MBL and GP before. Were they auditioned in this room or in a regular room? I would assume, if an MBL design does not work well in this room, a Bayz would also not... -

That´s why I put the "might" in the sentence. With horns (and other narrow dispersion concepts) it´s really hard to deal with the coloured first reflections. Ideally you would get rid of them through absorption. Hard reflective surfaces are a bit unforgiving here. Or if the room is large enough... -

Again, regarding the Telefunken 801s: It´s a tube with very special qualities, I have not fund anywhere else, yet. It delivers over the top resolution and a very holographic presentation. This might feel impressive at fist glance. But to my ears, it sounds somewhat artificial in those qualities...- Emperyan

The CV4024 are a special military type and were produced in large numbers. They are more readily available today. But the ones I have tested were significantly more mushy than all ECC81 labeled Mullards I tried. I have never had an older ECC81 from Mitcham, though, so I can´t tell for sure...- Emperyan

Wow, I am impressed that you tested the La Scala against the T+A 3100 HV generation and preferred the Aqua. Sure, the Aqua is the better value proposition, but I would have expected the T+A to come out on top. The La Scala uses ECC81 type tubes, not ECC82. So you would need a Telefunken 801s...- Emperyan

I am now also using the LaScala MKII Optologik + LinQ in my system. What I can confirm is that I don´t hear any distortion on the balanced XLR output (my concern after the review mentioned above). Did you compare balanced and unbalanced outputs of the La Scala Optologic? There seemed to be some transformer issues leading to high distortion in the old Stereophile review of the formula when using the balanced output.
