This one with LA Philharmonic:
Most Symphonic pieces are "Live" because they are minimally miced in the auditorium with little to no mixing afterward. By not live, it means studio multitrack recording with mixing and processing after.
I have Blue Sun Signatures with Blue Diamonds on top in 6 locations. A Blue Sun Signature only on the ceiling. For big rooms, the larger ones are more effective. I'm now integrating 4 of the Pro Gold ones for theaters into my room. Holger Stein helped me a lot with the placement. He claims...
I use these four recordings a lot for imaging and depth analysis:
1) Jazz at the pawnshop -Limehouse Blues (live)
2) Gershwin Rhapsody in Blue (live)
3) Kiss in Blue - Yello (Studio)
4) Pat Metheny Group - Half Live of Absolution (live)
ANY cable that uses two separate sets of wires for the + and - currents, not just Nordost should be coupled.
I have even twisted bi-wire jumpers together at shows for exhibitors and demonstrated an improvement in SQ. These are typically only about 8 inches long. I used to sell tightly coupled...
The rationale is to reduce inductance, the enemy of dynamics in speaker cables. Coupling the + and - wires tightly makes a big difference in reducing inductance. This is not just about resistance or wire gauge.
It may be that the twisted-pair arrangement of the Nordost cables makes this...
This is an inexpensive way to get an improvement. Use a short Ethernet cable from a router to the isolator and then a longer cable from isolator to a switch. This eliminates most of the capacitively coupled noise.
I installed the Stein Music H2's and upgraded them to signature with good effect. Alone they make a big difference in the liveness, separation and focus. Even the dynamics and slam factor are improved significantly. I also am using one R-888 Resonator with good effect, placed behind the...
You haven't heard anything yet. This is just the tip of the iceberg. After you get the placement dialed-in, do some serious active acoustics and you will be shocked.
Trex has some premium products now. I thing they may be much better. I have some upper decks that are the old original type of Trex and they are 18 years old. 2X4's. Still like new.
Did you know that Trex uses recycled wood and plastics?
