M77 is a little bit “dark” and “fat” compared to M7, not a good choice for Ongaku amplifier. Instead is wonderful with Gakuoh (1 version) G70i is a great choice for Ongaku better then M7. M77 Internal phono section is not as good as the separate, M7 riaa ss is a great choice. I suggest Kondo/ANJ...
Hi, from your words I assume you own an Ongaku. Have you tried some analog devices with Ongaku? Ongaku was been developed from Kondo san with analog sound in mind, this is the best way to hear analog. Try Ongaku with an M7 riaa (phono only) and a Kondo step up + a mc cartridge and you will be...
As I reported some posts ago, Kondo factory answered that all Ongaku come regularly with the GZ34 tube rectifiers. I know that over the years three series of Ongaku have been produced (mainly), the first had the inputs on the front and was smaller than the others, the second had the inputs on...
Maybe my contribution it’s a little bit delayed, but for me Sfz step up + M7 (only) phono + M10 (or G70 too I bet) + Ongaku is the really nirvana for the analog, IMHO obviously. I don’t like IOM too much, I prefer the Lyra (old Parnassus BB) , I have both.
But I think that some audiophiles used to change their rectifier to gz37 (or cv378 or cossor u52) instead gz34, I read this on a particular thread about Ongaku on the forum review33. I know that the Kondo manufacturing standard are very very high (and the price too) and usually their devices...
Hi,
I posted same question in another Kondo Ongaku thread. I wrote to Charles of AN Japan some time ago asking if I can use cv378 (gz37) rectifier on my old Ongaku instead the gz34, he answered quickly and kindly (as usually, I have to add):
“
Dear Sir,
Thanks for your email !
All Ongaku come...
Is there someone who tried CV378 instead GZ34 as rectifier on the Ongaku? I heard that it is possible on the first series of Ongaku. Had someone experience about?
The M7 Riaa (silver sound, only phono) is a different device from the M7 Pre (silver sound, line+phono). It’s the riaa section for the Ongaku. Both are different from M77 (I heard ksl version), this one pairing better with Gakuoh amplifier (300B push pull mono) then Ongaku. M77 is more “thick”...
The Vt4b is substantially a 211d (like we 211d, same specification). The principal difference I read is 75watt max dissipation instead 100watt max for the vt4c. I don’t know if this implies difference in power output or not. My question: is vt4c better then vt4b (as successor) or not?
User211,
have you ever tried the Amperex VT4B instead VT 4C? I read they are older and rarer then Vt4c, pre WWII (‘30) and have a little rating difference. Do you think they are plug’n play substitute for a pair of Amperex Vt4c brass base (‘40 years) on Ongaku?
