Introducing Olympus & Olympus I/O - A new perspective on modern music playback

Hi Emile. Did I read earlier that option 1) may have a volume control so a preamp may not be required?

    Ron’s New System

Hi Ron. I believe @microstrip is correct in that you have to look at the "waterfall" plot. I have x2 AVAA's in the front corner of my room. I am no expert but here are some measurements that I took using REW before and after some room treatment + AVAA's WRT to AVAA's just look at <150Hz on the...

Sound Quality of new roon versions (builds)

This happens to me occasionally with my DAC setup even when not using the DSP volume. All I do is play something with a different bit resolution and sampling rate( eg. 16/44 >>> 24/88.) and it seems to fix it. Might work in your situation as well.

Lovely. Can you share your thoughts on the Avantgarde system at the bottom picture. Was this the active system?

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Hi Christiaan, Would it be possible to implement the BPS option where the end user supplies their own LiPo battery or similar? That could possibly reduce the cost of shipping/packaging etc.

    What A Neat Idea

Unfortunately not yet. I have x3 standard rotary dimmer switches in my house but rarely use them. Not sure if they can affect things even if the lights connected to them are switched off as they always are when I am listening to music. I tried a DC blocker from here...

Sound Quality of new roon versions (builds)

can you connect to the core with another device; say a laptop which hopefully has the 1.8 version app then upgrade the core to 2.0

Sound Quality of new roon versions (builds)

I reluctantly upgraded my core to Roon 2.0 when my iPhone automatically updated to 2.0 and I could no longer connect to 1.8 (1105). I use HQP pass through as I need DSP/Upsampling for my speakers. I think there is an improvement in soundstage depth and texture allowing a more immersive and...

Hi Christiaan. Would Taiko advise uninstalling ROON for optimum performance when XDMS is released?

    What A Neat Idea

Hi @Kingrex. I'm trying to learn more about the influence of power on my hifi so thanks for this thread. Unfortunately I'm not located in Australia where we're using 240V. Can you explain why the transformer in my Taiko Extreme hums when plugged to wall AC even via a line conditioner but not...

Dedicated audio room build thread aka The Big Dig

Hope this doesn't derail the thread but I'm also in Australia @Aussienut where as you know power is 240V/50Hz. The transformer in my Taiko Extreme is rated at 230V input and used to hum when plug into my AC utility even via a Sound Application PGI TT-7. I tried it on a Shunyata Denali V2 and a...

@Aussienut; if you don't mind me asking; what do you use your P10 for if you have the Torus AVR 16?

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Hi Emile. Is this Roon setting "No" only for TotalDAC or for everyone?
