    EMIA Elmaformer (volume control) review

Except where noted I have absolutely no business relationship with any subjects mentioned herein. How does one calculate the relationship between source output impedance (DAC, phono preamp, etc.) and the output impedance of Emia's autoformer ? What do members consider to be the minimum ratio...

    FBP-200 questions answered

All questions below already answered (by an outside source) Re. Krell's FPB-200. What's the approximate first and last production years? Is the shelf life for the amp's electrolytic capacitors approximately equal to industry norms (15-25 years?) Are there any known parts difficult to get to...

Lampizator Horizon v. dCS Vivaldi Apex Listening Comparison

Full disclosure: I am an Infigo Audio dealer. My business partner Duke LeJeune of AudioKinesis and I had a paid marketing section prior here. If this post is unwelcome, I respectfully request the moderator delete it. Considering Ron's comments Re. the Lampizator DAC, I am anxious to hear...

Mfa tube amps that used citation ii transformers

Sorry for resurrecting such an old thread. Which if any MFA stereo amp(s) employed the Citation II output transformers?

The AudioKinesis Bohemian 215 design notes (more teaser content)

The last full range speaker in my sound room was Duke's Azel Tower, each speaker with 2 ports directly behind the single 12" mid-bass just below the horn and 2 more rear-firing ports just above floor. Prior to Azel Tower I had long used Duke's satellites + his distributed sub array to smooth...

The AudioKinesis Bohemian 215 design notes (more teaser content)

Someone in this or Duke's first B-215 thread (early '20) asked about potential trickle down models. Duke mentioned a potential model with the B-215's 22" horn atop a 212 mid-bass bin. For a particular nearfield/SET application in the North San Francisco Bay Area, Duke defined a 96 dB 112 Tower...

The AudioKinesis Bohemian 215 design notes (more teaser content)

Re. the horn design I hope it's helpful to cut/paste these paragraphs from the B-215 page at my website: Duke designed the horn employing Dr. Earl Geddes' latest mathematical formulas. One claim to fame for this horn is extremely high tolerance matching the horn's entry angle to the...

    Best EL34 amps

My two favorite EL34 amps I can recall are the (both long discontinued) Electra-Fidelity single EL34 11W by Jack Elliano and Peter Qvortrup's Audio Innovations dual EL34 class-A 25W integrated.

Open Letter to Joel Davis Re: Axpona 2020

Unfortunately the only thing that is not "complicated" and does not "change daily" is AXPONA's silence in reply to multiple signatory vendor requests for a refund to help them stay afloat. The late Richard Beers started THE Show as an alternative Las Vegas Show for high end vendors not well...

$8k Aurender N10 audio performance for lower cost?

Thank you very much. That's exactly the kind of reply I desired. Do you suspect the N10 and W20 have similar audio performance? On the one hand that's a high number of pieces to replace one server/player, but more than reasonable considering the value and audio excellence.

$8k Aurender N10 audio performance for lower cost?

Yes. The AB system employed superb DAC and power amps (estimate $30k+ total) > large current Wilson speakers in appropriate room. The AB system revealed that the N10's USB output provided significantly better audio performance v. the N100's USB output. Cheers. James

$8k Aurender N10 audio performance for lower cost?

No. I'm more concerned about the server/player than the DAC. I shall spend more on the former, intending to keep it longer than the latter. Not critical whether the server/player has onboard HD/SSD. Alex, Thanks. Do you have reason to believe either approximates the N10's audio performance?

$8k Aurender N10 audio performance for lower cost?

Does there exist any single box player/server that equals the N10's audio performance for significantly lower cost? If yes, please list make/model. I have at my disposal a very high end pure analog balanced preamp. Tidal compatibility is mandatory. TIA.
