Morning all from the UK
Can the Boulderlink be used for purposes outside the Boulder range? I'm just about to get 1110 and 1160 combo so don't need the Link anymore (used with 1010 pre and 860 power). It must be a trigger unit but don't know if it would be useful for users of other makes...
Thanks to all members for these helpful comments. At my age (76) I'm aware that my listening years are limited and my hearing re higher frequencies is probably in decline (must get it checked). Living in the UK means access to dealers who can provide good range of top amps for comparison is...
Got caught by the Boulder trap some years back and have a 1010 pre with 860 power. Speakers are Triangle Magellan Cellos. Front end is Marantz SA10 and Linn LP12/Clearaudio Davinci m/c. Room not huge (7m x 4m and 2,5m high) but would like to get the best from the speakers which I think are...
Quick update - I have just finished disconnecting and reconnecting everything paying more attention to interconnect routing and the Boulder 1010 phono input is noticeably quieter now. Just a slight hiss, and only when vol turned up very high and no music signal. And of course the line inputs...
Thanks again for these comments. My plan is to check all the connections and the cable disposition behind the 1010 etc - bit of a rat's nest - and see if that makes a difference. I have a v good Graham Slee 2-box phono pre which I might reinstate as a test, but I was trying to reduce the...
Thanks very much for this comment. I too was wondering whether to get the unit checked but here in the UK that might be a problem. I'll try a separate phono stage as you suggest but this was exactly what I was hoping not to need! Should have checked the phono stage out more carefully before...
Hi, I'm new here so hope I don't break any rules.
I have a Boulder 1010 pre-amp + 860 power amp (not enough space or money for the 1060) and generally it all sounds terrific. I'm just a bit concerned about the phono input (using the MC setting) - at raised volume levels there is a degree of...
