Since the router and switch also had tech to reduce noise and could be powered by external LPS via the DCD-
I’m personally hoping for a XDMI device, possibly housed in something similar to the switch/ router housing, interfacing with the Extreme via an interface card, and potentially being...
But doesn't the XDMI in on the Lampi doesn't need to be powered with a BPS in order to fully reap the benefits of the much lower noise? After all, this is why the Extreme cannot have the XDMI installed.
Btw I’m still confused so just to clarify:
Olympus I/O will hold the network cards and usb cards and TACDA or TACDD with battery power supply. (One battery for network, one for usb or TACDA or TACDD as all 3 won’t be used at the same time)
This also means a second power cord for the I/O in...
I couldn't see the firmware upgrade either until I reset the Taiko Router (via software).
One question- despite me setting a static IP on my main asus router, my Taiko Router keeps acquiring a new IP upon reset. Anyone know why this is the case?
Suggest you ask sound affairs (plixir manufacturer). They are very well acquainted with Weiss, I think they’re a dealer for the brand so lots of first hand experience :)
For number 3: if we use port forwarding, meaning that connection is already active with only one RJ45 cable connected (same one as to main house router), does it drop that the noise caused to below #2?
As mentioned I have no choice but to use port forwarding due to weak signal, but just curious.
I had a few issues prompting me to do port forwarding:
1) I use a headphone setup so I’m at my desk when I listen to music. My desktop which I use to control XDMS is below my desk and it couldn’t detect the taiko wifi so I was forced to look at port forwarding
2) I use my computer to control...
For those of those doing this, you may want to allow access to the router as well: to do this set a firewall rule to allow port 80. Thanks @nenon ! Here's a screenshot from him:
This is me (except I connect via laptop wifi, not tablet). I've even removed the Internet cable from the router because I noticed I could surf the internet through it when connected with my Laptop and wanted to remove that accidental occurance from happening.
My personal guess why this is the case: I think Roon is set up to keep pinging the roon servers to authenticate the account, and when it can't it will keep retrying- ie, chatty.
@Taiko Audio instead of the BPS, would it be possible to use an LPS with the DCD to power the NIC/ DAC/ any other components that would normally take the BPS?
