    Power Conditioner Power Cable

Just curious as to when using a power conditioner, is it more important for the source cable from the outlet to be of the highest quality or should the load side cable to the component be of high quality?

    Mono Switch?

Thank you for your input. My preamp does not have a mono switch, hence the question about the phonostage. Ken

    Mono Switch?

How important is a mono switch when shopping for a phonostage? I have a modest collection of mono LPs: modern MFSL pressings and vintage UK Stones and Beatles. I've read on some forums that it is important to be able to cancel out the stereo signals from the cartridge, but I'm still not so sure...

12" Tonearm for Lyra Etna Cartridge

Thank you, Sean I appreciate the input. I have mounted the Etna on the Reed, but have to wait until the weekend to get it aligned and dialed in.

12" Tonearm for Lyra Etna Cartridge

Reed 2A 12" Tonearm for Lyra Etna Cartridge I recently purchased a used Dr. Feickert Blackbird II turntable that came with a 12" Reed 2A tonearm, and I'm planning on using my Lyra Etna cartridge with it. Is the Reed a good match for the Lyra? Thank you for any input! Ken

    Avid vs. Dr. Feickert

I'm looking to buy a new turntable and can use some advice. I have a SME IV.vi arm with a Sumiko Palos Presentation cartridge. I'm looking at the Avid Sequal SP and Dr. Feickert Firebird tables. Does anyone have experience with either of these and how they might match up with the SME arm?

    Record Cleaning Machines

Has anyone tried cleaning old 78's on an ultrasonic machine? I contacted Klaudio, and they said they have not tested their unit with 78's.

    Record Cleaning Machines

I have a Klaudio machine on its way. Looking forward to testing it out. I like the fact that it has adapters for 10 and 7 inch discs.

    SME Tonearm Confusion

Thanks for your input. I have read great things about the IV.Vi, but couldn't quite figure out how it fit in the hierarchy.

    SME Tonearm Confusion

Hello! I currently have a SME 309 arm on an Avid Sequel table with a Sumiko Palo Santos Presentation cartridge. I'm looking at moving up the SME line, but I'm confused with the hierarchy. I realize that the Series V is the top of the line, but I see a Series IV on the SME site, but also find...

    Pass XA60.5

The XA60.5 mono blocks are here! Per Mark at Reno Hi-Fi, I left them powered up for five days for break in. I'm thinking six days is a better time frame. When I started listening to them after five days, they were kind of hit and miss. On day six they started to sing. And now by day seven, I...

    Pass XA60.5

Thank you for your advice. I'm now in the process of trading in my 30.5 for the 60.5 monos.

    Pass XA60.5

I have a XA30.5 which was my "gateway drug" into the Pass line. I now have a XP 20 preamp and am considering an upgrade to the 60.5 monos. I have Harbeth 30.1 speakers....any opinion on that upgrade?

    Record Cleaning Machines

Here's the latest (and hopefully the last) update on my situation with the Audio Desk Systeme record cleaner. Thanks to Mr. Robert Stein of Ultrasystem (the US importer of the AD), I received a brand new unit on Thursday. The serial number is in the 1900s (my original machine was around...

    Record Cleaning Machines

I apply a round pre-printed label to the new inner sleeve that I use for each freshly cleaned LP. I can keep count of how many LPs have been cleaned by the empty label sheets.
