Most audiophiles start younger then tweak/trade-up. But since I'm north of the century mark, 4 years ago in 2016 I started in-depth researching my bucket list for my first high-end analog+digital system by creating a 100+ tab OCD Excel spreadsheet trying to get the biggest bang-sound for the buck while minimally sacrificing sound quality.
Since I started high-end audio later than most, my goal is to land mid-fi , neutral, flat frequency response, minimize noise. Therefore I'll probably start with SS then later branch into tubes.
Lately I just started accumulating components probably making lopsided purchasing decisions.
