    Best phono stage?

More money is not always the solution for success and a lot of other factors… we only have our own systems and ears...

    Best phono stage?

Do believe that C-47 is above that level after long term testing diverse phono amps at home and the fully balanced MC input elevates it further as long as you can run XLR balanced from your tonearm/cart. Exceptional is an understatement given its price. Mike

    Best phono stage?

Yes, in the context of Airtight ATC-7 pre amp and MSL 1030 SUT/MSL Sig. Platinum cart (can't remember power amps/speakers) sounded really good with a natural flow and effortless dynamics adding a feeling of live event. Didn't notice any soft, warm, tube euphonic etc signature more like a good...

Lyra lambda sl or Ortofon Anna D

Well, here's the report after 50 hours use! It beats my Lyra Etna SL on all parameters. Dynamics, micro detailing, timing, timbre, air, best tracker I had, easy to install etc. Music just flows without any hickups! Mike

Lyra lambda sl or Ortofon Anna D

Thanks TLi, Do believe the Anna D had som further 'upgrades' which rendered in slightly better resolving power and from sources I trust says it is hell of a tracker and somehow have much less tracking/background noise. M

Lyra lambda sl or Ortofon Anna D

Hi, Anyone compared these two? After 7 months waiting the replacement to my Etna sl, the Etna lambda sl has arrived but at the same time I have been offered an Ortofon Anna D. No possibility to have them compared on my Kuzma 11" gemstone bearing and Kondo silver wired version. Comments! Mike

    Sonus Faber Stradivari ....

Just to add another view on this, my Strads are placed 3 feet out from back wall and 2 feet from side walls in a 13x24 ft room without any specific room treatments and bass is just tight and fine. Though I have all my equipment on Ansuz Acoustics Darkz DTC which is a big reason for the in room...

    Sonus Faber Stradivari ....

Hi Paul and welcome to the forum! If possible go Strads as you are a classical music lover but anyway this is the best choice of the ones you mention for any type of music. Be aware of that some later productions of Strads had some changes to the wood type used as can be seen from a more red:ish...

    CTH-8550 mark2 and Zellaton

Marcus, …deserves of course best amplification but pre and power amplifier is not necessary the solution, just saying best amplification what ever unit or mix of units it may be… Mike

    CTH-8550 mark2 and Zellaton

Marcus, "I would suggest something more powerful" I do believe CTH-8550 is the most powerful of them all so unless you had the Dartzeel at hand with the others suggested this comes out as an odd comment. I am well aware that you sell both CH and Ypsilon but still, did you listen to the...

    AFV Premium

So, up and running with a Kuzma like drive, deeper base, more 3D, resolution, timbre, timing and analogue flow. Mike

    AFV Premium

The V Premium has landed! What a well made solid drive unit. Due to work and traveling I will not have installed until next week. A pic for now on my dealers unit! Compared to the V this is a big step up in manufactured feel. Will report back once it is up and running in my system/Mike
