    Clarisys audio - Auditorium!

Thanks. Doubt the Absolare would have paired well with the old Apogees. Clarisys really opens up amplification possibilities.

I’m struggling to decide about buying an Ayre DX-5 DSD SACD & etc Player

The DX5 is built on the bones of an Oppo and has a video section. If buying used you will want to be able to access the setup menus through video-out in order to make sure all settings are as you desire. I recently sent my 10 year old unit in for repair — for a few hundred bucks, why not, just...

    Audience aR6-TSS vs aR6T-SSOX

I have experience with all three. The Puritan was better at reducing some transformer hum with a pair of Classe mono amps I was using at the time. It replaced an Audience PLC that was a generation or two behind the TSSOX and I didn’t feel anything was compromised making the switch. There are...

Ideon Absolute E and Time Demo

Aurender word clock and Ideon usb/spdif reclocker are different animals. Horizon should work with Time but I don’t think it’s word-clock ready. That said, I’m very curious to see/hear what prompted Aurender to make a word clock that is far pricier than any of their other offerings thus far.

New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

It was a shame the Thunder felt like they had to choose between Ibaka and Harden in order to stay solvent. There should be lux cap exceptions for home grown talent. Memphis will probably have a hard time keeping their core together the next few years, which means more free agents for the big...

New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Say what you will about GSW’s lux tax, it’s mostly based on the Big 3 career Warriors. They haven’t tried to buy a series of hired guns (other than KD during a unique period for the cap). What are they supposed to do - trade Klay for picks in order to lower their payroll?

Sigma Acoustics - Orchestra 2.9 speakers

Hey, I resemble that remark! Shhh, don't tell the Bayz they're being driven by "toys". They are perfectly happy being driven by SOTA Class D GaN (Gallium Nitride) FET technology -- 170W at 4 ohms.

Esoteric K-03x vs. MBL N31 vs. T&A 3000/3100 HV series - has anyone auditioned any of these head-to-head?

Triode— I see your gear is single-ended(?) The N31 is inherently SE as well — preferred connection, according to MBL. MBL also has an interesting take on how they optimized the mechanism for redbook playback since they didn’t have to take SACD into consideration (different speeds, lasers). DAC...

Esoteric K-03x vs. MBL N31 vs. T&A 3000/3100 HV series - has anyone auditioned any of these head-to-head?

Remember, MBL doesn’t play SACD. I had the 3100MP for a while but thought the app was not ready for prime time. Hopefully they have refined it since then (3 years ago). Wish I had ignored all the MP’s bells and whistles and bought the more focused player/transport instead. Ended up going Luxman...
