Received my vinyl copy yesterday ... great music, beautifully played, gorgeous sound, and order fulfilled (to the UK) in double quick time ... what more could you want? Kudos, Jerome!
I actually find it REALLY annoying that there are two versions because I don't particularly want to buy the same songs twice on vinyl, only to find they are virtually the same. What's the verdict from those that have heard both? Which should I get?

Very happy with mine. For the money, if you need a closed back design for occasional use, these are very listenable and un-fatiguing. No problems with earpads or build quality. Mine are the gold ones and, unlike most closed back 'phones, I think these things look rather good even when just lying...
Agreed. There's a risk of damaging the rca sockets on Shindo gear if you use some of the more extreme plugs. I had a secondhand Monbrison where a couple of the input sockets had their centre contacts trashed through being forced.
I, too, use heavier aluminium arm-pods and have disabled the suspension, as footfall on my wooden floors was causing mis-tracking with some cartridges.
Ortofon optimised the suspension / dampers for the elliptical stylus, so gluing on a different stylus will change things ... maybe worse, maybe better ...
I've had many SPUs, including the recent Anniversary editions, and the Synergy remains my favourite of the modern SPUs, so if it were me...
