Yes, I used a Spanish Marconi U50/80 for quite a while, and I enjoyed it. I tried to purchase an old globe 80 before that, but it was DOA. I’ve since moved on to the PV200/600 which I find to have great synergy with my Siemens F2a’s. Others have denigrated that rectifier; so who knows?
Twenty-five or so years ago, Angie sold me my Verity Parsifal Encores. I haven’t seen her since, but she clearly knew what she was talking about. She’s very impressive, as you’ve seen.
This is the PV200/600 pinout:
and here is the 5U4G pinout:
(sorry about the size difference). In the first case, the filament pins are separated by an anode pin, in the second case, not; so there's no way to plug the PV200/600 correctly into the dac's socket without an adapter.
A while ago, I received a doa RCA globe 80. After that experience, I started using a Spanish Marconi U50/80, which I thought would be similar. I liked that a lot, but not as much as I liked the PV200/600. I guess that our tastes differ.
Thanks very much. It is very gratifying to hear this. I try my best not to fill up space with BS when I post. If your taste is anything like mine, you will love the combination of the F2a’s with the PV200/600.
The PV200/600 is a fantastic sounding tube in my TRP. I recently put together an adapter for it, and I thought to post this for the benefit of anyone else thinking about a diy adapter for a 4 volt rectifier. The parts cost was about $65 — the bulk of that was the price of the Yamamoto teflon...

Tell the seller to spec it for PV200/600 (uses different resistor values than AX50). He even changes the label on the adapter to reflect that.
Enjoy!
