Hi Tang
The gain on the Nagra VPS is 34db. An additional 15db is available that I never use with the SS gain stage. All this works beautifully coz the CJ GAT pre has 26 dB gain

Hi Gian
I am close to completing 2 years with a black Lyra Erodion mated to an Etna SL. TBH the combo of the Lyra Erodion and a Lyra SL cart is truly special and spectacular , YMMV. In my not so humble opinion :), there is no better match on this planet for a Lyra SL cart !!
Looking forward to...
Hi Ked
The Ortofon 309D has a Lyra Pipe with a din cable. If you mean trying a Lyra cart with the Ortofon arm I had the Atlas mounted on it sometime back. I achieved superior results mounting the Atlas on the Talea 2 which is not surprising as it’s a way better arm.
Currently intrigued whether I...
Hi Gian
I have the Lyra Phonopipe servicing 2 of my arms ie Durand Kairos with Etna SL and a Ortofon 309D with a Miyajima Madake. In addition all cable runs between both my two SUTs and the phonostage are Lyra Phonopipes.
Extremely happy with the results. One of the Lyra Pipes is in rehab in...
Sorry for the delay in responding. I was away to a meditation camp for 12 days and incommunicado.
A really low output MC is a non issue for me given that my CJ GAT pre has almost 26db gain. I have converted both inputs on the VPS to MM and use external SUTs, a Lyra Erodion with the Etna SL and...
Interesting...new MC transformer. I have a new Lyra Erodion SUT that I acquired in May last year. Absolutely superb SUT that looks and feels different from the earlier red casework Lyra SUT.
Hi Ross
I have had both the Etna and now the Etna SL in the same system, off course not at the same time. The obvious difference is that the SL version is much more finicky when it comes to set up. I can easily detect if the VTF drifts from 1.72gm or more significant if the alignment is even a...
Hi Barry
Good to hear from you
It came from Canada a few years back at around 2kg. For the life of me can’t recall the name. It does no harm to the sound and possibly does some good. TBH platter mats and record weights , IMO, make the smallest contribution to the vinyl chain though the Zanden...
