What unknown ( to you) artist’s music just blew you away

Many moons ago an acquaintance had a pair of tickets he wouldn't be able to use. Fourth row, dead center at the Boston Garden. The group was Pink Floyd. I had heard of them but had never heard their music. I bought the tickets because he was so bummed he couldn't attend. Wife and I went the next...

    Lamm LL2.1 recommended replacement tubes

BIG FAN of the Amperex 6922, 1965 “USN”, White Label, Gold Pins. Use these in the output of my ModWright modded Pioneer SACD Player with great results! I'm a big fan of NOS Amperex tubes from the 50s & 60s. Not cheap unfortunately.......

If any of you have the misfortune of getting an attack, INSIST on the use of Morphine! NOTHING else works!!!

    To the cadavers: Kidney stones

On the way to the emergency room, I was crying like a baby. Thank God for Morphine!

    To the cadavers: Kidney stones

Had four kidney stone attacks in my lifetime (the first, by far, the worst). They were the uric acid type. Four years ago, a 3/4" stone was discovered during an X-ray. I was about to receive a serious operation to remove it when my doctor suggested I try a long shot. I started taking Potassium...

The fabulous Silversmith Fidelium Speaker Cable

A new double review: http://v2.stereotimes.com/post/silversmith-audio-fidelium-speaker-cable-by-mike-wright/ Not surprisingly, they LOVED them! Greg Weaver has awarded the Fidelium as the Cable of the Decade: Try it, you'll buy it!

Telefunken NOS 6922 tubes are they worth the Money?

Very keen on the Amperex 6922, 1965 “USN”, White Label, Gold Pins. Use these on the outputs of my ModWright Modded Pioneer CD Player. Also use the Amperex 7119, D Getter, Pinched Waist (Late 1950s) in my PreAmp. They produce a vivid, somewhat SS sound profile. I totally recommend Andy Bouwman...

When does your system hit it's "sweet spot" after turn-on?

I leave my ModWright KWA-100SE Amp on 24/7. My tube CD Player, Tube PreAmp and powered Subs are turned on/off daily. It takes a couple of hours to reach "cruisin' temperature" with resulting optimum sound.

Is the circuit in series with the power lines? Does this limit current in any way?

A Superior / Musical Bass: Does it exist? If so, is it free? How do we recognize it? How do we achieve it?

One of the main problems is that very few recording engrs have a clue on recording bass instruments. Either it's too softly recorded or the bass overpowers the microphones giving soft, fuzzy, bloated, distorted, tubby bass. Or it's recorded clean but too loud in relation to the other instruments.

    Small Room Audio System Considerations

tmallin, Excellent write up! I have a 13'x13'x8' room. Bad ratio dimensions for sure. I own Hales Signature Two Speakers which LOVE a dead room. My floor is concrete with a thick pad and rug over it. I use three subwoofers. Like you, I utilize near field listening with my speakers and chair well...

    the temptations

Saw the Temps circa 1970 with Little Richard as the opening act. LOVED the Temps, but Little Richard was absolutely sensational and a tough act to follow....
