As an owner of one of these modded Apple TV X units, it is a no brainer for me. 99% of my TV viewing is via streaming, so the argument of "is it as good as blu-ray" is really moot. Most of what I watch isn't available in blu-ray. My modded, souped up OPPO with linear power supply just sits...
I was really curious about this as well. Has anyone ever seen one in the wild? I couldn't find anything in the way of reviews. I emailed the company expressing interest, but received a note that they were not shipping to the US. Bummer. I love the industrial design. Admittedly one of those...
Both the A1.5 and the M1.1s are amazing amps; I'll avoid absolutes like this one is better than that one. Don't think I used the word soft, or other words that imply better or worse, but in my system the M1.1 are darker sounding in the midrange (compared to the A1.5s) but have more headroom...
I own both the M1.1s monoblocks and the A1.5s monoblocks and previously owned the A1s. My experience is that they all sound different and the circuit layout is different accounting at least in part for the different sonic presentations. The A1s were nice, but the A1.5s and M1.1s are a big step...
? Sorry, I'm trying to follow the latest- this is JPlay + Roon installed? What does JPlay do, and how is it installed with Roon? If it is downsampling to work on certain files like DXD etc what does it do and why should it be an improvement?
Roon update done. Thank you so much Emile and Christoph. Using Fiber to the Extreme. Immediately can also confirm...it's a step up for sure. I'm in a fairly tweaked network environment with 2x SoTM switches both clocked with CH T-1, w/ LPS, etc.
Taiko = The Roon Whisperer. Biggest...
Interesting information- thanks for sharing. Looks like a great linear PS. Could I ask those of you who are using and happy with the performance, what component are you using on? Just curious if anyone is using on things like switches, routers, etc. and if there's a positive difference with...
Agree. In earlier iterations of Roon, and perhaps this was the case when the Extreme was developed with it, there appeared to be more opportunities to turn off the "features" that were degrading the sound. I know when I set up the Extreme with my CH Precision C1 Mono I had to go to all kinds...
I may need to borrow your sunglasses :). I see a future where there isn't anything yet that I can use that's stable across all platforms that I have installed except Roon, but I'm hopeful that the aforementioned TAS Roon combo works seamlessly switching back and forth depending on which system...
Interesting. Maybe a dumb question, but could one just go back and utilize an older version of Roon with the Extreme? A version that worked just fine and had "the magic" that existed for 200 pages of this forum :)?
