I look forward to Marty’s advice!

In the under $25 category we always seem to like Spanish Rioja.

Francisco is from Portugal.

Bobvin is a winemaker, from California I believe.

The guy next door to me has a vineyard. Other folks within just few miles are winemakers with their own vineyards. There is as much wines as there are music players where I live. I am completely surrounded.

Thanks Bob, but no, I am not a wine maker, though I am a "Vineyard" as it is my last name (hence bobvin). And, not from California either, grew up in Washington state, moved to Portland 5 years back. Very much a wine lover, Pacific NW has many, many great wineries and growing regions. Walla Walla, Red Mountain, Willamette Valley (if you like Pinot), and your Okanogan up in B.C. Lots of great 'new world' wines that I love, but I have a real fondness for Bordeauxs—love that dirt!

And yes, wine and music are my pairing of choice, why I added this little audition when I remodeled the music room:

German wines are the perfect wines for the hot, summer months and pair extraordinarily well with Chinese and Thai food. Based on the current market scarcity, German Rieslings seem to be making huge strides in popularity despite the lack of recent "great" vintages. Still it's easy to understand given the affordability along with all of the wonderful attributes you so clearly enumerated. Sadly, German weather hasn't been very cooperative this decade and even when weather was decent, yields were low.

That sounds like an extraordinary generous visit and one that you obviously still recall fondly. I would have guessed that all German Rieslings, from Kabinett to TBAs would be discussed more vigorously in this thread given the number of people who make the annual pilgrimage to Munich audio show.

My cousin has told me this year should yield a good harvest in Germany. 2018 wines could be one of best years ever for Germany.
It has been quite hot for a long amount of time.
I dont now all that much about wine, because I only cook with it and do not drink it.

Thanks Bob for the clarification, and very nice addition next to your music room, perfect. I love those tinted glass panels.
I will eventually share some pictures of one of the most famous wine caves in Quebec, Canada, under one of the top rated restaurants in the city. My family, Dad side, are wine connoisseurs. Me I'm just too young.
I dined @ that restaurant couple times. The Hotel Concorde is just near by. There too I dined in the 360 moving restaurant.

Good, Bobvin knows all about the great wines in the PNW; it isn't just me.

I should have made videos when I was there; that way you would have heard directly our host talking and explaining the wines in there.
It goes without saying that no backpacks are allowed in that cave; I had to leave mine outside the vaulted door.
And, you cannot touch some of those bottles.

Don't ask the price of that bottle above; you would need to sell your house, your hi-fi music stereo system, and your wife too.
Then you would go living in a trailer of the New Mexico desert.

Thank you (and your cousin) very much for the update. While there are some who may consider 2015 on the Mosel and in Rheingau quite good, most will agree that neither have had a truly exceptional vintage since 2009.
