How can I get rid of (or at least reduce) turntable static? I’ve been hearing a good amount of pops while playing my records lately. I’m assuming it’s a static problem with my turntable and/or stylus cause it’s happening with every record I play. The records are clean so I know it’s not a problem with dirty vinyl or excessive dust on my records.

An ultrasonic cleaner will remove static.

Only until you start to play it. The friction of playing the record creates static electricity. I wet cleaned my records and used a Zerostat and still had static issues. I didn't want a noisy humidifier that required constant maintenance, so I opted for the DS Audio Ionizer-001. It constantly keeps the record at a neutral static charge while playing the record. It is pricey ($1800 US) but effective.

The problem seems to have cleared itself up. I guess maybe if a record that has a lot of static on it is played it can cause some static to linger on the turntable for a while but it eventually goes away.

I have (had) the same issue with excessive static charges on the records playing on my Bergmann.

Using a static 'gun' like Milty helps to some degree, but the cure came when I invested in a Dyson aircleaner / humidifier.

Setting the humidity to 40% or 50% makes a huge difference to the 33% that we had in the house before.
