Gianluigi this would be awesome to meet all of you, nice Gentlemen.
@bonzo75 , actually I am considering Italy as my second home and this is not only because of the food. I have stayed there for 8 years and I had enjoyed every single day. I agree with you that the Hi-Fi show should take place in Italy. Once the world’s largest boat show was taking place at the Fiera di Genoa. The best part of this show were the evenings at Portofino, Rapalo and Santa Margerita

If i have to share a tent with Ked or Tang, i’m out ! They would both let one rip, and thereafter discuss the sweetness of tone and tent acoustics  But Tango probably owns a tent that Gaddafi would have been envious of, and brings a chef and serving staff when he goes “camping “;)

The Mediterranean, Indian subcontinent and Asia have absolutely the best food culture on the planet... after the 2nd world war when the superpowers were all trying to convince the rocket scientists of the Wehrmacht to go over to them and join the space programs we here were just actively enticing people from the Mediterranean to come live here and open cafes and restaurants... Italian food and espresso = complete heaven... who needs rocket ships o_O

I don't think Italian food got exported that well. Sucks in India, and even in London it is difficult to find good Italian. There was one restaurant belonging to the Ramsay chain that was absolutely fabulous - @sujay also had dinner with me there once. Hope they survive these Covid times.

The Italians here got it right... I was taught how to cook by the nonna of some family friends and it was the best start to life. I was talking with a guy about the history of Italian cafes here and he told me the story of when someone tried to start up a Gloria Jeans Coffee franchise here and the US syndicate came out and brought with them a sample case of their coffee beans. At the meeting at one of our better Italian cafes they got served an espresso... and they didn’t even bother opening up their sample case.

Indian food here is lovely but still not anywhere near as good as in India. Australian Asian influences are some of the best influences on our local modern cuisine. Australian cuisine prior to our expanding cultural diversity was uhmmm plain at best. We are blessed that we are greatly mixed and all in this together.

Bob will hate me for saying it, but by the time the damn Wuhan-flu is history he should have his new store in Manhattan ready. We’ll have to chip in for the roadies who spend time swapping gear, I wouldn’t put all that on Bob but he does have the “audio lab”.

That said, Italy sounds great (though I might have a fine to pay at the border to get in—but that another story altogether.)o_O
