Wow! Congrats! That is another rare piece of audio high end! Your signature definitely needs updating...or should we say upgrading?
I have to hear them first to say its a upgrade...

Hi Micro - i think you also quite like the Constellation Hercules II if I am correct? I thought I read somewhere you said it was a truly great amplifier.

Yes, paired with the Altair II preamplifieir it was one of the best amplifying systems I have listened. I would have loved to listen to such equipment in the WAMM!

I will get my "new" speakers in few days maybe next week they are Demo Models of Sonus Faber Fenice or so called "The Sonus Faber" speakers they were made in total 30 pairs.

Below is a picture of "The Sonus Faber" i am looking forward setting them up.

They are fabulous, but need a lot of current and a big room. If it was not for the room width - they need space to breath - I would have got our distributor demo pair a few years ago. A top speaker.

As far as I know Sonus Faber have now a very expensive re-edition of this speaker.

Good to know! Absolute Sounds has certainly encouraged me to hear the Hercules II before!

Wise words...however, given that you own the Robert Koda K160s...I think you can safely say that your signature now deserves to record this fantastic 'upgrade'.

Dear Nickif you have a great system!

Are you the person that is using the Arya Audio Tweeter as added tweeter on the Cessaro Wagner speakers?
Can you tell us about this tweeter???

Thanks Amadeus. I’ve ordered the Arya blade tweeter and waiting for delivery probably in Nov.

I’ve heard it in the showroom where the speakers are the same as mine. And the result was very encouraging! The Arya blade adds quite a bit of air and extension to the system and there’s no turning back for violin and piano recording. Especially for violin, it lets you hear the distinct nuances between 2 stravadivarius violins.

Hi Nick,

Interesting observations on the Arya, how do you connect it to your amp or speakers? Do you need another speaker cable and do you just piggy back on the speaker wires you have going to the main speaker? Very curious

Yes you need another speaker cable connecting to the posts of the main speakers. That’s it, easy to set up.

ahhhhh i see thanks Michael, hmmm i suspect ....the costs of a speaker cable will outweigh the costs of the blade , am i right in thinking it is cardinal not to mix and match different speaker cables in a setup? what is the rrp of the blade MIchael out of curiosity?

Arya blade should be around 10k USD, dealer here specially designed a speaker cable using flagship wire specifically for blade in collaboration with Esprit audio costs around 3k, which is fair IMHO

Hello Amadeus.

Are you happy with the replacement of Dragon with Sonus faber? What are your impressions? Ultimately, which sounds best to you?
It would be interesting to know about this.

Thank you.

I’ve only heard Mephisto in different set-up but based on what I heard, it is not in the same league with K160. Therefore K160 is easily a step-up from Mephisto. If you have the budget, I’d say, again, go for it and never look back:cool:
Hi Nickif,

By any chance, have you heard the Boulder 3060 stereo or 3050 mono amps? Was just curious if you had any thoughts on they might compare with the Robert Koda K160 (even if you were not able to do a direct shoot out).

Well, the deal is agreed. The CJ GAT 2 and Gryphon Mephisto have been sold for cash, along with a suite of Purist Audio power cables (now replaced by Sablon Audio's Prince Oranges which are fantastic)...

...very blessed to say the K160 monos arrive in 6 weeks. More to come...

Hi Howiebrou,

Thank you...particularly for your own insights, observations and experiences which were also very helpful. There are not many people who have heard and really spent time with Robert Koda let alone own them and understand how to get the best out of them.

Hi Morricab,

If you are asking about experience with BOTH preamp and amp together, there are only a few who have that experience...very few. There are only a handful of Koda k160s in existence at the moment that I am aware of. Amadeus got 2a and 2b only earlier this year, I believe, and AE in HK got 1a and 1b. They will make 3 this year I am told.
