Yes sir. I am getting some hours on it before I give it a serious listen, but right out of the crate, it was WOW!

Congratulations, Scott!

I think there are very, very few components in high-end audio about which one hears virtually or literally no significant criticism. I, personally, have never heard or read any significant criticism of the Mephisto.

Of course it will not be everybody's cup of tea, and it will not be the best answer to every loudspeaker question. But, overall, it appears to be one of those rare components that virtually everybody seems to like.

I agree wholeheartedly Ron. I fell in love with the Gryphon sound when I received my Gryphon Colosseum stereo amp about 3 years ago. For about a year, I was able to hear the Mephisto in a customers system that I am intimately familiar with. This led me to the conclusion that I had to have one.

Purely out of curiosity have you had the opportunity to compare directly in the same system the sound of the Mephisto to the sound of the Antileon Evo?

Unfortunately I have not tried that amp in my own system.

I look forward to your more detailed thoughts about this magnificent amp when you get a chance! Particularly since you have a tremendous stable of great amps in your business! Audionet, Constellation and DarTZeel...fantastic! Heisenberg vs Hercules vs 268 vs Mephisto! What a fun shoot-out!

Yes -having spent a lifetime upgrading and swapping hi-fi components to solve 'problems' it was a huge relief to discover Gryphon . It just sounds so natural and viscerally exciting . Expensive yes but cheaper in the long run

I like that philosophy, go right to the best and end the merry-go-round.

Congrats Scott! the Colosseum sounded great on the big Vivids when I was at your place. I'm sure the Mephisto will be even better.

Agree! Exceptional execution of a powerful pure Class A design.

Yes, its heavy...108kg, 238 lbs! I can think of only the Boulder 3060 and the massive D'Agostino Relentless which are substantially heavier. Roughly double again I think!
