I would recommend the OP to seek for a pair of Earl Geddes (GeddLee) speakers. There are not many but they are, given the compromise of a smaller size, one of the better horns I had a chance to hear. I owned his top model Summa which I liked for how they sounded but given they were DIY, I ultimately decided to keep Oris Swings.

Geddes speakers are clean, linear, low distortion - not much (or any) bass bellow 50-60Hz from a 15" driver but one of the best midrange practically free from most of the colorations often dominating the horn sound. Very electrostatic in presentation with better dynamics - just missing the real pressurizing you get from true, long horn profiles like Tractrix, Le'Cleach etc

Their midrange is second to none thanks to a strict concept of controlled directivity through a oblate-spheroid waveguide which is technically speaking not a horn (meaning air impedance matching device) but it just works so well in reducing distortion and other colorations you get from real horns.

We copied the Geddes WG for own use and produced a few pieces from polyester. Two friends made truly SOTA speakers with the Summa WGs, one with TAD 4001, another with modified TAD 2001. Actually now I remember that I didn't mind selling them since I had a WG DIY-ed, a copy of x-over schematic and of course I knew what drivers it used. I assume Summa would be too big for you (they were 90x60x40cm) but there are smaller versions, forgot the names.

Geddes speakers are not free from faults, to my ears an early rollout (and I'm partly deaf plus not a HF freak) and a specific sound of B&C cheap CDs are the main ones but both can be addressed. A friend who's using modified TAD 2001 (different diaphragm) with Bert's BD15 drivers in D'Appolito configuration really pushed the limits with his build.

If I ever sell my Swings for decent money (what is decent money?) I may end with my version of Summas. You just need better drivers than what Earl Geddes uses.

The Wagner doesn’t use a Supravox like the Chopin.
Looks like it from the pictures. Same design, Alnico magnet. Where did you hear it wasn’t a Supravox?

I just read the review of the Wagner in the German magazine Image Hifi and they declare in the review that it is indeed a Supravox driver, same as Chopin and same as the one I stare at most evenings.

The newest, latest version uses a driver made by Cessaro, but the earlier versions use Alnico magnet Supravox.
Latest version (Cessaro driver):

Older version (Supravox)

Ok, so there is a V2 Wagner? It’s not even on their website. Btw. It looks like Supravox moved to a Mkii version that has a smaller magnet, a bit lower sensitivity and higher Qts. I don’t believe Cessaro makes this driver...probably Supravox does to their specs (it still looks like a Supravox).

The driver is called "Cessaro C235-A", so it is proprietary. I don't know if it's build by them or by another company (yes, the build is very similar to Supravox), but wrote "Cessaro driver" because that's the only info I could find.
Yes, the new speaker is not even on their website, but it has been discussed in the Audioexotics forum for several months, the full name is "Wagner Silver Signature"

Hi, the Wagner is indeed on version 2. The Silver Signature model is an Audio Exotics specific variant with a few extra flourishes specifically requested by that market.

I have had the Chopin Cessaro speakers for several years now. I use a Shindo Giscours Western Electric and ELROG 300B’s in my SET amps. The piano reproduction is stunning......both analog and digital. Good luck with your search.

Charney audio speakers how do they compare with the above mentioned examples of small horn loaded speakers
Yes I'm interested this as well from people that have heard the Charney's.

I have Charney and Viking Acoustic on my short list of potential speakers to pair with my 300B amp. The Fleetwood Devilles is also something I'm considering but I'm not sure if its "full range" enough for me. Any thoughts on these small horns in the $10k range would be appreciated!

I have a room that’s 11.5 ft wide by 23 ft long and 9 ft high.
Was wondering how the Charney audio Excalibur would fill the space driven by a 300b amp
You may also want to consider the Horning Hybrid Eufrodite or Aristotle as another speaker in that thematic space. They're lovely on a quality 300B and would fill your room easily.

To the original poster... if you have not yet decided on a speaker you will have greater opportunity to hear Diesis by summertime. Here in west-coast of USA I will be hosting the Portland version of “Rhapsody Listening Rooms” (RLR) and will have a pair of Diesis Roma for audition (along with Alsyvox and Bayz speakers, Pilium electronics). There will be other RLR in Dallas, Chicago, Miami and of course there is still the original Rhapsody in Manhattan and listening room on Long Island. So you might have an opportunity to listen as this covid nonsense fills the rear view mirror.

Hi Sangbro,

I currently own Audio Note AN-E Lx. They
repoduce properly sized piano images. Let me know if you listen to them how accurate they are. If budget not a problem my current favorite is Stenheim Alumine 3.

Hey Bob, when do expect to start having visitors? Oh and can they test ride Ti Jones bikes in between listening seasons? :D

Thanks!

My new kit should begin arriving sometime late June / early July. It’ll take a bit of time to get things run in, so mid-late August is likely when I’ll be able to host my first visitors

Not sure about cross-marketing with Jeff Jones, but I do have a Ti diamond frame (large) and a Ti spaceframe (med) available! I really don’t see myself riding any of my other bikes anymore now that I’ve grown accustomed to the Jones. Maybe if I feel the need to train with the fast-boys, but the thought of getting into race-bike aero positioning makes my back, neck, and shoulders flinch a little.
