Rhapsody.Audio- Listening Rooms (RLRs)

Rhapsody.Audio would like to announce that within the next 3-4 months there will be multiple new locations where several of the product lines that Rhapsody.Audio represents will be available to audition via Rhapsody.Audio Listening Rooms (RLRs).

I love that collection of Kondo components! Which amplifier is near the front right corner?
Hi Ron, Kagura in the right corner. The other one hiding behind the left speaker. There is an '89 Ongaku and an '89 Nearo/2A3 amp on tope shelf next to the Ginga.

Rhapsody.Audio Alsyvox Tintoretto X (with external crossovers) installed today in Tribeca, Manhattan. Btw, it's all rental furniture as the customer just moved in last week. Their full house of furniture will arrive in another week. No glass coffee table long term:)

Speakers are very close from front wall. Isn't it an issue because back Tintoretto energy?
I thought min. distance should be 1,2 mt.
King regards.

It sounds great right where they are. This couple are high powered executives that do a lot of entertaining in their Tribeca loft. When the owner is listening by himself a lot of times he would move the speakers out further into the room. Takes 5 minutes.

The great part is they sound GREAT, right where they are about 1M from the back wall. He has said he doesn't even bother moving them at this point he loves them right where they are. His wife is very happy with that as well. Everyone has a different equation vs. just audio in their lives.

Thank you for your quick reply.
I’m glad to see they work well near back wall.
Based on the picture, it seems they are around 50cm from back wall. They have a lot of toe in and back wall seems very hard ( a lot of reflexion)….

All I can tell you is a sound great right where they are for the customer. Like I said he can slide them out if he wants to but he has no desire to as he likes the way they sound right there.

Btw, this customer and his wife listen at very low levels, 90 percent smooth jazz. They love that the Alsyvox are very efficient even at levels around 70-75 db you can still enjoy the sound and also carry on conversations in the room. Different strokes for different folks:)

I had the same reaction, as I would pull planar dipole speakers five feet to eight feet into a room. But it is the difference between regular people who are music lovers and who want great sounding music integrated into their homes with competing aesthetic considerations and us perfectionistic audiophiles whose only parameter is maximizing sound quality.

Btw, this same customer also bought the Constellation Centaur II stereo amps/Pictor preamp and sold his Mac gear. I need to get a pic with the C gear. He also bought an Aqua LaScala dac (I really like the LaScala) and committed to buy an Extreme server.

I'm confused , thought the Formula xHD and La Scala MKII Optologic were two different DACs in the Aqua lineup.

I wanted to see if I could confuse anyone;) You win!!! It was just a slip of the pen....so used to saying Aqua Formula. He ordered a Lascala, which I REALLY like.

Excuse me, but i won’t say regular people needs Tintoretto, external crossover, Constellation Centaur II stereo amps/Pictor preamp and Extreme Server.
At the same time, i don’t consider my only parameter is maximizing sound quality.

They don't need it, they just like it and want it.

Who is anyone to say what someone else wants or needs?

This customer heard this set up at my place and decided to have it at his place. No big deal for this customer.

I'm nobody to say what someone wants or needs. I don´t care what people do with his money. We live in a free world.
Ron was saying they are regular people who loves music and i was only commenting they are typycal rich ("high powered executives") people who maybe loves music and sure loves expensive system to show a status...
No problem by my side, it won´t be the first or the last customer of that style....
The dream's customer of all distributor....;)

I can't count the customers I have like that, probably 100+. I can think of 20+ in the last year. I don't know one of my customer's that have bought their systems to show a status. Most of the people/customers are not that kind of people. Mostly very private people in their home lives.

I was talking only about that system…
It has no sense to me… that’s all.
But with the customer description “high powered executives” it becomes to have sense….

I have listened to Quad ESL63 70 cm away from the front wall and they sounded really great. Each room is a different room and speaker placement depends a lot on building technique and materials, not just on dimensions.
