Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Different topic. I just received my long awaited StarLink satellite internet package this morning. While waiting for the roof mount to show up I've got it temporarily set up on a table in our backyard. 10X the speeds up and down compared to our DSL connection.
I am curious how this will affect SQ if at all compared to our twisted copper pair DSL. I hope to give that a try this evening if the ethernet adapter shows up on a later delivery truck.

I'm glad I'm not alone. Based upon rau's post I decided to have a listen to Roon once again. I totally agree David. As much as I hate the TAS interface , it's the TAS sound that I find so superior to Roon. Like you I am back on TAS faithfully awaiting the arrival of XDMS hoping that Christmas can occasionally come in July

With Roon I found myself wanted to turn the volume down. With TAS I want to turn it up.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but why not place the Extreme’s feet directly on the Beechwood couplers?
By the way you get bonus points for curling 45 kg several times while doing these experiments!
There are two reasons for not placing components with their feet directly on the Artesania rack's feet. First, they can only be moved in fixed increments and there are a few dead spots, making it unlikely that they ever match up perfectly with the audio component's feet. Second, the Artesania feet sit on spikes with a compliant rubber surround for damping and they are quite wobbly if not supported by a wider flat surface pressing down on it. It would not be very safe to do this even if the feet ligned up.
Has anyone tried the Extreme plugged into a Shunyata Denali 6000? I have a Denali powering a few peripheral devices.
I would have to buy a proper power cord to connect the Denali to the wall if I plug in the Extreme; but it’s not worth it if the Extreme will not sound better, vs connected to the wall.
My AC power is typically 118-123V and 3% THD.

My Roon is the opposite of bright and edgy...however I do enable the “SAMPLE RATE CONVERSION“ tab, under DSP settings, as that seems to provide a slightly smoothing effect to the sound.

I don't own a Denali but I do own the Shunyata Everest so here is an additional data point for your consideration. As detailed in my post #9840 in this thread, I experimented with the Extreme going direct to the wall (dedicated 10 AWG circuit) vs. into the Extreme. The power cord was a Sablon Prince. I did this experiment twice, before and after the Extreme's OS update earlier this year. Both times I preferred the Extreme into the Everest. Not a huge difference, but enough to be noticeable. I also prefer my amp into the Everest.
Just curious, are you presently powering your Extreme directly from the wall, or plugged into your P20?

My Extreme is going straight into the wall, via an AQ Hurricane HC and a PSA power port wall outlet. The P20 is too far away, so I can’t connect the Extreme to it.
So it seems like a small improvement may be heard, and perhaps worth an investment in a power cable from the wall to the Denali. (Currently I just have a router and some noisy power adapters controlling lights and a Mac Mini plugged into the Denali, so no need for a high end power cord.)
Don’t know for the Denali but, here, while the amps and DAC love to be connected to each own Torus, the Extreme prefer and sounds best, connected by his own circuit, (I don’t use wall ports). Just like Emile adviced.
Likewise, no Denali but I have a distribution system of Shunyate Triton v3, Typhon QR in series from wall to Triton, and an older Typhon in parallel with those two. I'm also using a Sablon Prince on my Extreme.
I tried the Extreme directly into the wall and from the Triton, and I really hoped that it would be better from the wall because I'm running out of free receptacles on the Triton. However, I found I preferred the Extreme powered from the Triton.

Ah, too far away on the P20. I found the P20 better than directly into the wall when I first got my Extreme, and have been riding with that since. Now, with the updates since November 2020, I probably should revisit it....
Then you'll have to do it all over again with xdms. IMHO, enjoy the music and wait until xdms is out.
I resonated alwayslearning's comment. I dont own Xtreme, but SGM EVO and tried to plugged it to Everest 8000 (with SR Omega XC cord) and to wall inlet. I do prefer pluggin in to Everest to Wall inlet. Music is more refined and smooth with Everest. It sounded more forward and aggressive with wall inlet (furutech NCF). The power cord is Stealth v16.
