Songer Audio's Next Generation Driver, and the S1x

Word out of the show Ken was your room was most everyone’s favorite. Why am I not surprised. Kudos and well deserved Ken
Would love to hear them someday to see if what I typically don't like about single driver speakers (the highs) has been solved by Mr. Songer. People told me the Cube Audio speakers solved the problem...not to my ears...but I am hopeful...

I think you can be hopeful, @morricab

My effort to refine the driver and voice our loudspeakers has spanned years, with exhaustive testing of cone materials, weights, and shapes, driver suspension refinement, cabinet construction, lining, port tuning, novel baffle step compensation... so many factors have converged upon what the S1x is today. Do you ever visit the states?

We are thrilled this morning to announce that the Robb Report has selected the Songer Audio S1 for a 2024 Audio Award, recognizing it as one of this years 40 finest audiophile products in the world.

Best Loudspeakers for Design Obsessives: Songer Audio S1

This is an incredible achievement. We couldn't be more proud of it, or more honored to have earned the praise of so refined a listener as Robert Ross, and the recognition of a publication devoted to celebrating the best the world has to offer. Cheers, friends.

Must feel great seeing your work being increasingly recognised Ken… congratulations.

I recently looked at the technical specifications of the Songer speakers. I couldn't find any information about the impedance. I would not only be interested in the nominal impedance, but also the minimum impedance.

Sure @Verdier! The S1x an 8 Ohm nominal impedance, and the minimum impedance is 9.7 Ohms. The S1 is 16 Ohms nominal, with a minimum impedance of 15.6 Ohms. The S2 is an 8 Ohm nominal with a minimum 6.7 Ohm impedance. Please feel free to PM if you like, happy to share any data you'd find of interest.

It's been a wonderful summer here at Songer Audio! We're looking forward to capping it off next week with a great event at the Pacific AudioFest. We especially enjoy this show each year and partnering with our friends at Whammerdyne Heavy Industries, makers of some of the finest 2A3 amplifiers on earth, not to mention our own similarly magnificent power supplies.

Whammerdyne is under new ownership these days, and we see a very bright future for the brand. Not one to go gently into that good night, the original founder of Whammerdyne, Pat Hickman, will be bringing his NFS "bucket list" creations to the event. He's christened this latest project the Trifecta, 53wpc 2A3 monoblocks in a push-pull design. Along with Whammerdyne DAM-2 2A3 monoblocks, these extraordinary amplifiers round out what will be the finest systems Songer Audio has ever paired with. You will not want to miss this. A pic of the massive Trifectas loaded into Pat's SUV for the trip north tomorrow, included below.

Of course the rest of the system will likewise offer world-class performance, with returning reference-level components from our friends at @LampiNA , @Innuos , and Stromtank, pairing alongside our peerless single-driver loudspeaker, the mighty S1x.

We invite you to join us September 6th - 8th at the Sea-Tac Doubletree Hilton in Suite 1367, for another truly extraordinary listening experience. Cheers, friends.
