Can digital get to vinyl sound and at what price?

there are always going to be similar threads going on at the same time. also; within each thread there are numerous separate narratives going on.

it's normal for these popular topics. and part of the deal. a policy of combining threads would add confusion, not reduce it. once members take a little time they can navigate it.

more limited subjects are different. it can make sense to do it. mods can figure it out.

you just need to pay attention.

Totally agree. Plus, a number of people on the other thread said that they will not visit these vinyl versus digital threads anymore so we will benefit from their absence and fewer complaints.

i honestly think that when a member writes a post explaining their strong views (not every post is like that, of course) that they get a chance to reconsider how they feel. hitting 'post reply' is taking a stand. and no matter how locked in, there is a millisecond of inner-self talk that happens. so posting should be a positive process of re-examination......or....not.

i know i delete a certain percentage of my posts as my brain takes some time to process my self talk. "oh sh*t, i should not go there!!!"

are you moderator?
Yes sir. I am one of them. The rest of the moderation team isn't made public knowledge or broadcast for a reason.

The threads have 2 similar discussions, while at the same time, remaining separate topics (if they actually stay on topic). They will both remain open. Thanks.

Pretty sure my question wasn't directed at you..But thank you Big Brother for doing your job so over-zealously. Now we all know there is a super-stealth censorship team. Sheesh....What a forum this is.

Big Brother?

Okay. Wow. I think I will slide out now and move into a friendlier room. Have a great evening.

My reply wasn't to you, what am I supposed to think-I replied to RexP....I mean, why moderate when you don't need to moderate. It just feels punitive. You chose that role not me, I'm sure you're a fine fellow, just some feedback, and all feedback is a gift. You're welcome.

@skids929 - I have read many posts over the years from you. I have no beef with you. I have no beef with anyone, really.

I was tagged in the reply and I responded, not only to you, but others with their inquiry. The WBF's main goal is to have a friendly place to where people can chat without the angst that is prevalent on other forums.

I got bit by responding here.

Please, let me remind you that I am a member here, just as everyone else. My intentions are to have members abide by the TOS of the forum. Nothing more, nothing less.

I agree with keeping both threads open, but I’m very curious as to the reason for the secret moderation team.

Huh?

Tom didn't moderate anything here at all, let alone anything over-zealously. He answered a simple question posted by you, which he mistakenly (but reasonably) thought was directed at him.

WBF has a moderation panel. That's it.

I won't be responding further on this topic.

"Secret" moderation team? Is that another conspiracy theory?

Exactly. I don't understand what the big deal is supposed to be.

Perhaps @treitz3 can close this thread so two identical threads are not running?

They are not the same threads. This was a digital vinyl thread that started in July of last year. So people might change over that time or reading so many posts on this thread, compared to the other one, where it could take a few more months.

Al, did you read Tom’s post? Not made public knowledge or broadcast for a reason means secret. How many moderators and who they are is now not disclosed to the members, that is those who are being moderated. This used to be known and disclosed under the avatars.

Kept secret for a reason? Really? WBF used to be more transparent. I am curios why this policy changed. Steve was very good at making public announcements about changes. I wonder if Tom meant to admit it.

Ok, point taken, Peter.

I agree, moderators should be public. It is bad policy by WBF if they are not. Tom is public as a moderator, so should be everyone else in his position.

If moderators feel threatened in their role, and therefore wish to stay secret, they have no business being a moderator. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Nothing has changed.

But there were reports of a delta-shaped craft with blinking lights hovering still and silently above WBF headquarters, and then moving away at incredible speed.

I only commented because this is the SECOND time this has come up, I am too lazy to dig up the other thread. But it was something along the lines of "you don't see what we see".

I am glad Ron can make light of it and act like there isn't any over moderation and we're all just crazy for questioning anything.

Growing up in the 1980’s we are all too familiar with 1984 and the Police States associated with the old U.S.S.R. Never thought that some of those tendencies would be embraced and adopted by Americans.

My response was to Rexp and Tom responded as though I was asking him the question telling me he was a moderator. I didn't ask Tom, and I don't need a Moderator to tell me they are a moderator. Bottom line is this thread is helpful and unless people are being disrespectful no reason to close or intervene.
