Siltech Cables

Wow let us know.. Comparing to Transparent magnum opus 6?
Yes. In my system vs my Magnum Opus Gen 6. On a whim I listened to a double crown ethernet cable. That was the only change. Quite impressed. So I inquired about power cords only...dealer came back with why not try a loom. Oh well :). These are seriously pricey, and I can't do much at one time....will let ya'll know!

Wow indeed! Definitely look forward to hearing all about this one! I have to say, the Siltech Triple Crown power cables are phenomenal...yes, phenomenally expensive, but also spectacular. The closest competitor for me (in our system) has been the Z:Axis SL-777.
Hey Lloyd, this is where I was starting. Double Crown power, but now will try the Master Crown power and interconnects/speaker. My gut (or my wallet really!!) is telling me power cords on the amps...keep Transparent signal cabling

I think the first test you should do is loudspeaker cables. This is usually the most important cable IMO. Next power cords.

100% agree. We have used Transparent on signal cables for close to 20 years consecutively. But power has always been Sablon Audio and Z:Axis. I admired and respected what the TA Opus (Gen 6) PC did in our system, but I compared side by side with Sablon Prince Orange and preferred and kept the latter. Personal preference but a clear one.

The only PCs I would move to from these would be Siltech Triple Crown...but the price differential was just too great for me, ad so we have happily stayed with Sablon Audio and Z:Axis. And now there is Siltech Master Crown!

Well you guys are out of my league here as I am slumming it with a humble DarTZeel pre + amp
I am on a cable journey due to the new DarTZeel gear (after 25 yrs with Naim) and now new speakers - Stenheim Alumine 5SE.

I have the new Siltech Classic Legend 680 speaker cables on order (4.5meters which curtails my spend on cables) and have the 680 interconnect on demo between my Rossini APEX and NHB-18NS mk 2 preamp. The price bump up to the 40th anniversary interconnect is not that great on the XLR interconnect so I was contemplating that. $21k for 4.5m of 40th anniversary speaker cable I think I will hold off on.

I currently have (and am about to sell mine) the Siltech 680 speaker cable and 880 interconnects.

I've heard a lot of cables and Siltech are EXCELLENT cables. You are going to love your 680's.

Just make sure you give them time to burn in.

The speaker cables have not arrived yet however the 680 interconnect is here on demo and SERIOUSLY impressing me. Having been stuck in Naim world for 25 yrs I had been using Chrod MUSIC cabling. Silver has been an eye opener.

As my Naim/Linn background still has me subscribing to the source first mantra the 40th anniversary XLR interconnect between Rossini and pre has me seriously thinking about that one over the 680.

Unfortunately a demo is impossible - I was told the distributor only brings into the States with a confirmed order. I love how they want you to buy things unseen and without demo

Burn in - Siltech says it has been improved to only 100 hours
Why are you selling - upgrade?

In my experience they do well by 100 but certainly benefit with a longer burn in.

Yes - I'm moving from the 680 speaker cable to the STEALTH Dream Petite V16-T. Having said that. you will love the Siltech's.

I'll get to try the Master Crown speaker cables, 1 set of 2m Master Crown XLR's, and 1 Master Crown power cord. I think I'll put the power cord on the preamp, the xlrs from the dac to pre and of course speaker from the amps. Should have in the system in a few days...

Fascinating. I have really found power cables to matter on digital the most.

If you are going for the absolute, why not include the new Infinity power cable by Siltech’s sister company Crystal Cable? Should be an interesting comparison.

Interesting for sure but the Crystal Infinity is about 1/2 the price of the new Master Crown power cable. As they are from the same company umbrella, I wouldn't really expect the Infinity to be playing in the same league as the new big daddy Master Crown, or they wouldn't charge 2x the price IMO.

This is a great point. When I experimented with power cables I agree with you that PC's on digital made a huge difference.

Ah sorry. It is about money haha. Hate to bring it to but more money doesn’t always bring you more quality. In this case my money would be on the Infinity. But… maybe ignorance is bliss ;)

John,
Hope all is well! I spoke with Casey last week about Siltech, interested to hear your thoughts after you've spent some time with them.

When it’s coming from the same company, usually more expensive gives you a better sound.

I agree but in this case both companies have chosen for their own “voicing”. Siltech is calmer, more organic. CC is clearer, more transparent. CC’s art series (esp. The Da Vinci’s) put Siltech second. However, whatever you chose, you can’t go wrong. (Says a Dutch fan;):)). Enjoy and keep us posted!

Hi ! Hope all is going well !

I have had 2 master crown interconnects and one power cord in since yesterday afternoon. The dac to pre, is now mastercrown, and pre to amp also master crown. (both xlrs) The mc power cord is on the preamp.

My initial thoughts is more quietness, more resolution. That's quick and easy to hear-and not subtle. I do wonder if the Transparent Magnum Opus are better at presenting things in space. Also the pace is different. I can't say one is better, they present things differently. It may also be the MC crown need more time to settle down after transport and installation.

I will try the speaker cables today. And maybe move the power cord to the dac.

Dealer has to pick them up tomorrow for their next stop.

I have several Classic Legend interconnects here on demo and will be ordering a 40th anniversary Ruby XLR to go between my Rossini APEX and DarTZeel preamplifier. Siltech now states burn in for the Classic Legend series is down to 100 hours (down from the previous 300 hrs ?). I have found this to be true - with an extra day ie 125 hours to be icing on the cake.

Perhaps, however, the Master Crown they provided are already burned in?

You may not believe this but give them another 200 hours and will improve even more. It makes me sad to read people jumping to conclusions after 100 hours or so. Especially when using thick cables: take your time! I really believe the Masters need about 300 hours minimal WITHOUT touching or moving the cables. Good luck and ENJOY :)
