I realize that this may be a silly question. I am still a Spectral newbie.
I am assuming that the Spectral website would be the go to listing for current models.
I may be getting an opportunity this coming week to finally hear Spectral and I just want to know what's current.
While I'd love the Pass Xs series combo (Xs preamp and Xs-150 amps), I am not sure I could take the heat. Has anyone heard the new Ayre KX-R Twenty preamp and MX-R Twenty amp together and have any idea how it compares to the Pass combo?
Has anyone compared the two? Any thoughts on how they might differ sound-wise? I loved the sound of the D'Agostino Momentum preamplifier but was not crazy about some operational issues. I'd appreciate your thoughts.
I finally broke down and ordered my pair of Stradivari. :b
I am curious as to what you guys recommend for solid state amplification. From reading some of the posts here, I understand Strads can be difficult to drive properly. I love tubes and think I have that covered. For the times I want...
OMG! I saw and heard these stunning speakers today. This is the second time I've heard them and I love these things.
Am I crazy to think about them? Are they still competitive today considering Magico S3/S5 and Wilson Alexia?
The Sonus Faber Stradivari were one of the only two speakers to...
Here are some photos of the Job 225 and the fuse block. You can slide out the fuse holder without taking the cover off but I found it easier to push the post from the back on the inside. The drawer will pop open containing the fuses. The one shown in the photo is the one to replace. There is...
I didn't see the damping factor specs anywhere on Spectral's site. Can anyone tell me the damping factor. I have a friend that is also interested. I know it may not be an important factor but it's turning out he's starting to prefer amps with very high damping factors. Thanks.
I am thinking about "downsizing" to the TAD Evolution One. Has anyone compared them to the CR-1's. I am under the impression the top end is a little sweeter and slightly less forward.

Now that my CJ GAT/ART monos are on the way, can you tell me if you still like/love the Martin-Logan Summit-X with them. Are you thinking about a speaker or gear change? Any other recommendations for speaker pairings with the GAT/ART combo? Thank you for all your input.
I heard a pair of Alexia with Esoteric amp and McIntosh preamp. Not the best combo, but I could really tell there was more to the speaker than what I was hearing. Has anyone tried or is using Dartzeel on Wilson Alexia. Specs seem like it would be a good combo. Any thoughts? Thanks!
According to the CJ website, the ART monos are wired at the factory by default for 4 ohms (they are also available connected for 8 or 16 ohm loads). My question is - Any typical speaker I am likely to use is 4 ohms, would there be any benefit to having them wire for 8 or 16 ohms instead? I...
conrad johnson MF-2550SE Solid State Stereo Power Amplifier--Bill Conrad calls this the "best solid-state amp" cj has ever built.
Bill Conrad and Lew Johnson have put their significent talents into a new solid-state amp and this is the result. Fast, dynamic and transparent are the typical...
I have been extremely impressed with my Job 225. A friend is borrowing it and I think he loves it so much, he may want to buy it from me. That leaves me with the option to replace it (or get it back and have him get his own), or go up to Goldmund (or similar) line. I like the tone, articulation...
