Taking the family today.
I love Star Wars . I watched the first one when I was eleven. It made me feel so many great things and it ushered in a new generation of film.
I'm questing for a 3012R but am confused about what condition the arm should be in.
Is the OEM wiring preferred or does it need replaced? If so who offers re-wiring that retains the OEM sound?
Any parts that need replaced due to age of the arm?
Are rebuilt or re-wired arms from companies...
Thx for posting it looks awesome. Is the azimuth adjustment on the back of the headshell? I see a few marks on top. Hard to tell from the photo is the arm nude carbon or painted carbon? It has a similar look to the SAT arms is the design similar?
I enjoyed my time with them very much. Very dynamic and truly full range. My room being essentially square suffers from poor acoustics and find active adjustable bass the best solution. ARC REF 250 and darTZeel 108 were great fits for the Cresendo's.
I’ve had Gibbon X , Wilson Sasha v1, Acoustic Zen Cresendo, Joesph Audio Prespective, Focal Sopra 2, B&W 802 ,Magico V3 , Joesph Audio Pulsar , Evoltion Acoustic MicroOne , Tannoy GRF90 in my 16x15 room and the Uno XD’s represent the best of all of them. Superb deep bass tailorable to a...
The 211’s were wonderful and dead quite with most types of music. I have 107db Avantgardes and no issues with background hiss. The Preamp I used was a darTZeel .
I know of a pristine pair of 120V ATM 3211 for 15,000 if interested.
I’ve had one paired with Avantgarde Uno XD’s for 6 weeks now. It does not present the same SET midrange but makes up for it with soundstage, speed etc. very non fatiguing at all volume levels. It’s a keeper. Worth noting my speakers are 107bd into 18ohm load so not much juice required.
Battery works and is easily switchable for critical listening sessions. Couldn't tell the difference for a long time but it has come into its own and adds another layer of air and finesse . The phono stage is also adjustable and while I haven't heard many stages this one is really good as good...
I've owned both the ARC REF 5,5SE and the older Dart and now the newest version of the NHB-18NS. My amp currently is the Dart 108. I much prefer the Dart and there is great synergy between the Dart pre and amp. Sound wise for me they are very far apart. I find the Dart much less fatiguing and...
Why cant you discuss the brand?
For me as you say opinions , likes vary. ARC to me is on the SS side of tubes and Dart is on the tube side of SS. That said I also have some SET amps and love them with certain music mostly what you listed above.
