Super3 - a supercapacitor LPS, by Farad Power Supplies

Did you ever get a chance to A/B between the Farad silver and copper cables? I’d be curious to hear any insight you heard when possible. Also, my Farad/L2 Silver/Lumin combo now has plenty of time on them (continuously powered on since my previous post), and the music is everything I could wish...

    LampizatOr Baltic 3

I didn’t move from a Holo May KTE to the Baltic 3, but I was able to audition a May KTE (120v version) in my home for a couple of weeks prior to purchasing the Baltic. it is a very impressive DAC. Clearly first rate build quality, engineering, and fit ‘n finish throughout. I liked everything...

Super3 - a supercapacitor LPS, by Farad Power Supplies

OK, it’s been a little over 50 hrs since I have been able to attach the Farad L2 Silver DC cable to the internal Lumin U2 Mini, attach that to the Farad Super 3 LPS, and power it all up. The Farad was ordered with the SR Purple fuse, so it has roughly 50 hrs on it, too. I know - way fewer hours...

Super3 - a supercapacitor LPS, by Farad Power Supplies

Great thread! I had a Teddy Pardo LPS in my cart and was getting ready to order it when I came across this thread. I just ordered a Farad Super 3 with the SR Purple fuse and Farad L2 Silver DC connector with the Lumin plug. It will be powering a Lumin U2 Mini, which feeds a Lampizat0r Baltic 3...

Super3 - a supercapacitor LPS, by Farad Power Supplies

I noticed that while Lumin Molex connector cables are available for the Farad 3, the U2 Mini isn’t specified (although the Lumin D1/D2/T1/T2 models are specifically listed in the instructions). Does anyone know if the Farad 3 with the Lumin connector will work on the U2 Mini? I assume it will...

    LampizatOr Baltic 3

I Miguel, I replaced the generic Shuguang 12AU7 tubes (most likely what you have as well) in my B3 with new Gold Lion ECC82/12AU7 tubes from Upscale Audio. I selected the “Kevin’s Stash” and “Cryo” options. Remarkable clear, open, detailed high end with these. Looks like they might not be...

    LampizatOr Baltic 3

Shakti, what differentiates the “new” B3 from the previous version? I received mine in August of this year, and I think it was a “newer” version. Have they made changes since? You listed some pretty significant upgrade components, so I’m curious which version I have. Thanks!

    LampizatOr Baltic 3

Quick update: I’ve returned to the RCA smoked glass round plate 6F8G tubes with the Woo Audio adapters. I read something about the Woo adapters themselves settling down after some use, and that the initial thinness disappears with a few dozen hours on them. I decided to burn them in with the...

    LampizatOr Baltic 3

Currently, EML Mesh 5U4G regulator, NOS KenRad VT-231 black glass (1943), New Gold Lion ECC82 (Upscale Audio’s “Kevin’s Stash” and cryo options). Also tried some NOS RCA VT-99 smoked glass tubes with Woo Audio 6F8G -> 6SN7 adapters, but didn’t like them as much as the KenRads.

    LampizatOr Baltic 3

I love it! Can’t wait to hear if your impressions are similar after you’ve had a chance to get used to them. For reference, what tubes do you have in your B3 now? I’ve got the EML Mesh 5U4G regulator, then the stock PSVane blue balls (NOS RCA smoked glass 6F8G tubes and Woo adapters going in...

    LampizatOr Baltic 3

I’m conservatively at about 75 hrs of break in on the Baltic 3 now. Could be closer to 100 hrs, but not really keeping track any more. Everything sounds wonderful, but… I swapped in a pair of new Gold Lion ECC82/12AU7 tubes for the stock ones yesterday. They are the Upscale Audio “Kevin’s...

    LampizatOr Baltic 3

@wisnon, which 6F8G tubes are those? I just ordered the Woo Audio adapters and some RCA smoked glass 6F8G tubes to try. Should be here next week. And the Herbie’s Tube Damper on the rectifier tube, is there a reason why it’s around the bottom part of that tube? I’m using one as well, but have...

    LampizatOr Baltic 3

She’s here! Only about 2 hours on the new Baltic 3, but already a considerable improvement over my previous DAC (Black Ice Audio FX DSD). I’ll give more impressions as break-in occurs, but right off the bat I notice a much cleaner and clearer high end. Not sharp, but clear. Excited to see how...

    LampizatOr Baltic 3

My new Baltic 3 with VC and new display is on its way from Poland. 1. I don’t know which engine is on it. “53” got a lot of press, but that had DSD512 I believe, and the newer Baltic 3 advertises DSD256, so not sure. 2. I have heard the same, and intend to use mine as a preamp as well, hence...

The Audion Mono Amps from AGD Production

Great question. I just ordered a Lampizator Baltic 3 with volume control, and was strongly considering pairing that with the AGD monoblocks, not sure which model yet. Not sure that I’ll have a chance to demo without purchasing, so I was hoping to hear AGD owners’ impressions, too.

    LampizatOr Baltic 3

Sure. Because it was sent to me by the US distributor, and the additional area around the original pic indicate that it was taken and sent from the man himself, Lukasz. I chose to crop that out since it wasn’t a publicly released photo.

I was sent this pic as an example. Nothing official, but it shows that apparently even the Amber 4 gets the new display.

    LampizatOr Baltic 3

I just placed my order for the Baltic 3 with copper chassis and volume control. Turns out, all Baltics (maybe all Lampi’s) with the VC option now come with the larger Pacific display and remove the ring light as of June 1st. Just wanted to mention for those considering purchasing one. I’ll post...
