Keith, thanks for the reasonable sized write ups. I do more scrolling without reading on WBF than anything lately, so it helps a lot when there is something concise. I just can't read novels all the time...
The arms are worth more, no doubt. And there is no competition (similar priced items are not competitive). That’s what I see. I will say though I am not the person that always buys the lesser dollar version of things, so I am less common.
You know what's funny is I could switch "vintage" and "modern" in that whole passage and it'd still be just as true as it is written now. It literally just depends on the exact equipment.
My EICO can throw an image with a pair of single driver speakers I have of jazz trumpet that is... unprecedented (speakers lack in other ways though). And that's with a cheap TT.
I hope he'll raise his prices and get the orders out.
Wish there was something to do to help his migraines. From someone who has struggled with head pain at times, it's bad. But I've figured out things that work and don't for me so now it's rare. It's not the same for all.
Yes, it’s a very basic calculation used by everyone in the industry. As Morricab said it is +3db for every doubling of watts. It seems totally reasonable to think your speakers would follow it. So it really depends on your listening volume. Also peaks that soft clip in excess of 100db aren’t...
So he can hear clipping on tubes? The devices that soft clip? I'd be willing to bet money he hears something entirely different. Audiophiles are wrong typically on these things. They hear IT but what it is, isn't their conjecture.
You could potentially get 104db out of the ML3's. I don't see...
There's almost no information on it... How does it work? All I can tell is it looks maybe like queing raises/lowers the entire thing? The lever is massive.
Interesting, I wouldn't have guessed you like Gerhard's stuff. If that's the case a day may come where you like several things we've had our hands in, that aren't even our personal choices.
What gear was associated?
If it's good it's good. All this philosophy is pointless.
If a good design cost a lot, it does. If it's complicated or simple it is. If it's bad it's bad. There are good and bad at ALL PRICES POINTS.
Ever seen a mixing board. Dumb argument. They just aren’t your cup of tea (or mine), that simple. It is a bit of a wonder why they went where they did.
Uh distortion only matters when it climbs greatly at the tail end of max power on most devices. It’s likely other things that make it sound wrong as you turn the volume up. And I wouldn’t say very low distortion inherently makes low volume good either. I’d go as far as to say the speakers play a...
You may not be aware but this website is probably the most liberal for "hawking wares" there is... as long as you aren't spamming/harassing and it's kept civil.
We just think if them as the most annoying person at any gathering. But if you’ve ever been around their meetings of the minds they are conniving and world domineering at heart. Total control…
It makes sense. There is that point where it just switches and your analytical side just wants to rest. I suspect for musicians they have trouble turning it on, and we need the right stereo to turn it off.
