For the record. Both Nick’s phonostage and the system have undergone significant upgrades since Ked’s visit 3 or so years ago. PeterA heard the system last fall (?) in close to its current incarnation. (The only change since Peter visited--and a worthwhile improvement—was the addition of a newly...
Just received some exciting news from Patrick Sinegal of Reeltronix. It appears that his new Reeltronix reels will be available in about four weeks. Patrick expects, if he can get 60 preorders (email at gideon1967@aol.com), that the “standard” reels will retail for $450. The price of the...
Perhaps a link to the thread from "the other forum" would be more useful than having to take excerpts. :) I think there's many other thoughts there.

It's been four years since my review of Patrick Sinegal's superb looking and even better sounding Reeltronix reels appeared in the pages of Positive Feedback. Patrick's Reeltronix reels--are light years beyond anything being currently built-- not to mention what has ever been available to the...
Presumption of innocence" serves to emphasize that the prosecution has the obligation to prove each element of the offense beyond a reasonable doubt (or some other level of proof depending on the criminal justice system) and that the accused bears no burden of proof.[22] This is often expressed...
Absolutely, the two maintain a close relationship to this day. After all, it was ARC that put Magnepan on the map.
The bass was a speaker, not amplifier issue. Mod the speaker with better parts-caps, chokes, wiring and connectors- and the low end was a different beast.
Maggie has shown with Bryston for at least 20 years! :)
Best sound I ever got out of my Maggie 3s - as well as the 20s I reviewed - was with 140 wpc cj amplifiers. Easy load and the amps cruised on the 3s. Little harder with the early 20s.
Nice try switching topics again. You can't be parochial about defending your hypothesis.
No it's simply a question that we know a whole lot less than we think we know. Point is that measurements are only good to a certain point. Albert Porter specs for two amplifiers that were identical; one...
So while on the topic of the meaning of life errr... measurements, why did respondees to your recent poll choose the sound of analog over digital by a 2:1 margin? After all, there's no question that digital measures better in many, if not every important area? Must be those damn reviewers again...
You do realize there is no consensus on the ways to properly measure dipoles-even down to heir efficiency?
BTW what does preference mean? Tonality, frequency response, imaging, dynamics, etc? The same to everyone?
If you want to read a magazine that puts measurements first, buy Stereo Review. Ooopsss. It's gone. Guess everything sounded the same so who needed the magazine? Certainly not for the music reviews.
Otherwise it's simple. The other magazines have subjective reviews and it's up to you read or...
