Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

I went to the SGM dealer in Hong Kong yesterday to listen to the Extreme again. It had been "boiled" for 10+ days since arrival on 4th Feb. There was very obvious improvement! I listened to this 2-pianos album of Argerich's : The grand pianos are gorgeous and Argerich was authoritative as...

A new star in 2019 : Innuos Statement Server

IMHO linear powersupplies to NAS/switch/router/modem is only the first step. There are many more tweaks available. I probably will start a new thread on this issue later today, because afterall this thread is on Innuos Statement Server. ;)

A new star in 2019 : Innuos Statement Server

Not every CAS audiophiles whom I have visited got both configs to compare against. However there is one CAS frd of mine whose NAS based FAS system is outstanding and IMO can compete with the best servers. I shall share with you some of his tricks later today. I have to dig out the photos first.

A new star in 2019 : Innuos Statement Server

Sorry I am not a tech guy and I guess not all we/engineers know currently can explain all the phenomena in the audiophile field. I myself have a CAS systems and have listened to many CAS systems in HK. I found that the network pathway has to be meticulously tweaked before the playing of NAS...

    P-1 Phono with X-1

Although I myself am not a LP audiopbile, I have listened to many LP systems of my frds in Hong Kong. IMHO, CH Precision P1+X1 is the best solid state phonoamp I have ever auditioned.

A new star in 2019 : Innuos Statement Server

Hello popspin, Congratulations! BTW pls transfer/copy your music files from your NAS to the internal storage disk of the Statement. Playing the music files this way is significantly better sonically than playing them inside the NAS. ;)

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

This kind of upgrade policy is very rare amongst the hi-end level components. And I heard that price-wise it's very reasonable. My salute to Emile & Edward! I have friends in Hong Kong who have upgraded their SGMS2015 to EVO happily. And a friend who has an EVO is considering to trade-in it to...

The MSB Select Transport - My new toy for the new year of 2019

Thanks Mike for sharing your experience in footers for the Selects. May I know other than the best option of the Tana+LPS platform, what passive footers have you tried and your comments on them? I have reserved a set of Center Stage2 and will try them on the transport after the burn-in...

The MSB Select Transport - My new toy for the new year of 2019

I just received a call from the MSB dealer in Hong Kong. He has read this WBF thread too. He informed me that MSB is no longer supplying the soft-type of footer I mentioned on #1 of this thread anymore. All new Select/Reference Transports they receive will only have the metallic spikes &...

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Don't be too modest. Wadax Atlantis components are rarely owned by non-extreme/casual audiophiles. :D

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

I did visit a Wadax Atlantis combo owner frd last year. Not meant to be a meticulous shootout session. Wadax Server played files in NAS and streaming. The Atlantis Transport was still sonically better.

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Is such top transports comparison feasible in UK or N Am? Very difficult to be done in Hong Kong. They belong to diff dealers and of course they won't take risk orgaaizing such comparison sessions. In fact most top transports are expensive and very heavy, owners are reluctant to move theirs to...

Yes, via ProI2S before, which is much better than any aes/ebu digital cables. BTW the best ethernet cable for ProI2S I experienced is the Dalby Audio Meda. The 2nd best is Vertere.

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Hello Esotar, Nice to met another EVO/Extreme dealer here. The HK dealer is now doing the same thing as you now. :D BTW I think it's rather meaningless to do the comparison because the result is predictable. It's more important for dealers to understand and be familiar with such a complex...

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Ben Lau of Volent HK, the official dealer of Taiko Audio is still burning-in the Extreme and fine-tuning it to match his showroom components. I luckily got a glimpse of its interior. I was shocked. The interior is completely different from all audiophile servers/streamers in the market. It's...

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Emile's Korean customers ordered Extreme without any prior listen! Some of them such as WBF member Esotar are receiving delivery this week. The dealer in HK has received an Extreme too. It's bigger and heavier and has a totally diff chassis when compared to SGM2015 or EVO : Its back. It...

The MSB Select Transport - My new toy for the new year of 2019

Some audiophile friends asked me : why buying a transport in this "Era of CAS/Streaming"? My answer is simple : 1. I got nearly 10,000 CDs, many SACDs and some DVD-audio & BR-Audio discs and I am too lazy to do ripping. 2. I have auditioned uncountable number of traditional disc transports...

The MSB Select Transport - My new toy for the new year of 2019

The Chinese New Year in 2019 was on 5th Feb. Chinese/Hong Kong people welcome spring and what it brings along: warmer weather, plants, new beginnings and fresh starts and for me, a new MSB Select Transport. Its sturdy aluminum case is bigger than the wheels of my car. The shipping weight is...

What ethernet cables are members using?

I am interested in the GigaFOIL V4 too. I will be able to listen to it in a few day's time. Shall post my impression on it here. Keces LPS are made in Taiwan. Very reliable and have excellent c/p ratios but of course performance-wise there are some better choices. I notice that many of the...

Evolution Acoustics MM2 vs Raidho C4.1

Listened to Raidhos many times in Hong Kong. Their bookshelf models are excellent but the floorstanders' bass is not easy to tame and may not suit the smallish home environment in HK.

I heard Robert said that a new poweramp would be launched in 2019. Hope that it can be in time to be demoed at the annual Audioexotics Show in Hong Kong in July.
