Ron's Speaker, Turntable, Power and Room Treatment Upgrades

I have come to the view that the Grado Epoch3 is not likely to be a good compliance match for the air-bearing, linear-tracking Bergmann Odin. My ZYX UNIverse Premium is definitely going on the SME 3012R. But to use the Grado Epoch3 I would have to get a Reed 5T instead of the Odin.

Opus 1 on SME 3012R and Grado Epoch3 on Bergmann Odin, or Opus 1 on Bergmann Odin and Epoch3 on SME 3012R?

I have come to the view that the Grado Epoch3 is not likely to be a good compliance match for the air-bearing, linear tracking Bergmann Odin.

    CH Precision 10 series

No, I do not. You keep repeating yourself, and I keep disagreeing with you! I view Marty's inability to optimize the negative feedback setting to satisfy his personal listening preferences as a totally different issue than possibly sub-optimal loudspeaker positioning in a warehouse-style...

    CH Precision 10 series

No, because Marty has perfected his loudspeaker and room set-up meticulously. Marty experienced with CH amplifiers a very specific and narrow issue to his ears. I do not deduce any issue of general applicability from Marty's personal experience and preference.

It seems like something must have been wrong with the set-up, pk_LA.

I am aware, of course, of this company. But I am skeptical about significant or enduring worldwide impact. China's dictator can direct the liabilities and fallout to impact whom he chooses.

    Supersense Mastercut Edition Lacquers

Chad moderated a discussion between Michael Fremer of AnalogPlanet and Mike Esposito, owner of The 'In' Groove in...

Magico M9 vs. Magico Ultimate 3 Horn- Box vs. Horn! Which will be better? In which ways?

This is exactly what Ralph of Cessaro Acoustics does for his customers in their homes. (I acknowledge that Ralph sometimes uses DSP for subwoofer integration.) I agree wholeheartedly with MikeL's post: as an analog purest I don't want the whole single converted to digital. For me it's as...

How do you clean your stylus?

Is it too old school to clean the stylus just by gently sweeping the hard bristle brush from back to front? And occasionally a bit of Last Stylus Cleaner? Does it have to be any more complicated than this?

Avantgarde Loudspeakers: Solid-State or Tube Amps

This business about using solid-state amplification to drive horn loudspeakers, especially Avantgarde horn loudspeakers, is totally baffling to me (unless, possibly, an audiophile is of the discrete hi-fi sonic attribute philosophy, seeking only to maximize detail and frequency extension and...

Magico M9 vs. Magico Ultimate 3 Horn- Box vs. Horn! Which will be better? In which ways?

Doesn't the Magico Ultimate Horn system convert the entire audio signal the digital? Why would any audiophile who values analog want this result?
