    Any cyclists here?

I hope health improves for you Stirling and you get out riding as much as you want to; 1800 miles is A LOT better than no miles though, no matter what speed.. I'm sure you'll enjoy Europe again, which parts are you heading for?

    Audiophile electrician?

While not Florida based, Kingrex on here could offer some advice and maybe help, this is his area of expertise.. Sounds like you are using your retirement time wisely..

    Any cyclists here?

Nice to hear from you Stirling; I trust all good with you over there? For the time being I'm still running 23's but the state of our dismal roads over here I'll probably look to check out some 28's this season, possibly adding another set of wheels. Things have certainly changed in the thinking...

    Any cyclists here?

Great stories and rides / bikes here, just read 17 pages in one hit which is a first for me! You guys in the US certainly do have some amazing trails and scenery to explore and it appears that you may not see any other folk for some time in doing so; that makes me very envious! My bikes are...

    Max Townshend RIP

Very sad to hear this earlier today, he will be very much missed especially here in the UK, he was a big part of our show scene, always up for a good conversation about engineering amongst many other things, his legacy will live on in his ingenious products sold all around the world..

VIV Laboratory Rigid Float Tonearm, first experience.

Hi David, Good to see you here.. I have the RF9 on my TTS-8000 at the moment, alongside my SAEC WE560, which has been a favourite for some years now. The ViV RF9 has been a very interesting exercise though, debunking the tracing error theory completely, and demonstrating what a tonearm without...

    F1 motorsports

This is correct, but the issue there is that the race is open to adjustment, even manipulation, off track, which is not what would ever happen under Charlie Whiting's long and respected reign, he would be turning in his grave right now.. The sport must look into the influence the race director...

    F1 motorsports

Not quite, they would have had to relinquish the race lead as they needed 15 seconds or so and only had 11.7 gap to P2. MB did everything they needed to win this race except account for the events that unfolded in those last few laps which Horner influenced by pleading with the race director to...

    F1 motorsports

Regrettably I agree, F1 was somehow sidetracked into the entertainment industry by Ecclestone, which attracted TV rights and massive budgets, racing in countries that could afford to pay the enormous fees required etc.

Hardly surprising Mercedes are not happy! Lewis Hamilton drove a perfect race, and there was no way Verstappen could could have beaten him fairly, this was a gift from the FIA, which may prove very costly.. An unprecedented amount of people tuned in to watch just this race and experienced a...

Lampizator announcement: launch of our all new TOTL HORIZON DAC

Lampizator announcement: launch of our all new TOTL HORIZON DAC

I2s over USB? I assume this is a prototype as it makes no sense, I2s is best over RJ45, secondly HDMI, but for best sonics RJ45 by Neutrik is the only way to go. Maybe Lukasz will offer this over USB to realise the potential? I'm interested to hear more about this implementation on this DAC as I...

    Current “Best Bet” SOTA Phono

Very interested to hear your impression, especially in comparison with the RCM.. Have you heard the 'Big Phono' (2 box all out RCM) by any chance Shakti?

Lampizator announcement: launch of our all new TOTL HORIZON DAC

Ok, this really is not meant to insult, I have no reason to do that, but in a frank discussion I would say that yes absolutely, Lukasz is a professional, plus I have worked in this area for 30+ years and as Lukasz says honesty is far more useful than hiding one's real thoughts. I have no doubt...

Lampizator announcement: launch of our all new TOTL HORIZON DAC

Ultimately yes, of course, and I likewise mainly listen in almost darkness as your hearing changes when your eyes do less work.. But a missed opportunity to match the aesthetics with the expected sonics, IMO of course..

Exactly what I hoped to hear from Lukasz, there is hope in the real world..

Lampizator announcement: launch of our all new TOTL HORIZON DAC

Question will be do Lampi want to play that game of exorbitant pricing or continue with their historical approach to pricing their products? They would certainly maintain respect by keeping to the latter IMO.. As an aside, it looks awful..

    GrooveMaster II Tonearms

Leif, I know that feeling, of stability and metronomic precision, piano was very memorable via the 3560, something I've yet to hear a match for.. You also have the 3533 motor which I believe is a 3 phase unit.. Congrats on the new spinner! BR, Paul

    Current “Best Bet” SOTA Phono

In my experience, the RCM Theriaa Mkii outperformed the Silvercore phono across the board, by no small amount either. You won't need the SUT either as Theriaa is not short of gain and drive..

A little help with choosing headphones

I feel for you, nothing more annoying imo than some knawing on seeds! Bose have exceptional noise cancelling ability, but the Sony have a better sound, I use the Sony and have little to complain about, have tried the Bose (belong to a colleague) and was most impressed with the NC, sonics not...

What is your ambient room spl level?

An app, my main SPL meter only goes down to 29db, but I could test the app against the meter at a more fixed level to compare, will do this sometime soon.. The one thing I do notice is just entering the room (without music playing) you clearly sense the drop in ambient noise, it's a nice feeling...
