Introducing Olympus & Olympus I/O - A new perspective on modern music playback

Emile, Will the Olympus Windows OS be installed in the same storage drive as the stored local files will be? This is very important for me because I select the 3.84 TB one, which is just right for my small library but, also with the OS I might run out of space… If so, how much space will the OS...

Introducing Olympus & Olympus I/O - A new perspective on modern music playback

If your Seagate was formatted as NTFS file system, the router USB port doesn’t recognise it, yet.

And, later when the router firmware permits, plug it into the USB router port and compare the SQ with the one from the Olympus stored files. It's externally powered too.

Thank you Emile. Your number 3) is a fantastic solution. I’ll gladly wait for the router firmware update.

Introducing Olympus & Olympus I/O - A new perspective on modern music playback

Emile, What do you think about the SQ of an HD or SSD disk plugged into the USB port of the Router, which it was supposed to be used as a NAS itself? How does it compare to local stored files in the Olympus? And compared to an independent network NAS? Assuming that we have Router/Switch/DCD in...

Introducing Olympus & Olympus I/O - A new perspective on modern music playback

Emile, so we can install any other windows playback software? Foobar2000, for instance, and the SQ will be the same as with Roon? Thank you.

It means that you must choose which one you want to have, already mounted, when it arrives at your home. Then, to listen to the other option, you’ll have to change the daughter card.

Solar Cell electricity effect on Audio???

I guess your inverter is a pure sine wave one, right? I haven’t tried any of the existing possibilities yet, but in a technical point of view only, I believe that for feeding an high end music system, we must install an high end inverter too. Maybe I’m wrong but the micro inverters, DC...

I think it all depends on your needs and the service level that your dealer provides. BTW with mine, Ultimate Audio in Portugal, our relationship is a 16 year old excellent one. As much as we could want, Taiko Audio still doesn’t supply all of the system components yet, so whenever I want to...

It’s the second slot on the right. An adapter for RJ45 is missing. As it is, is for a DAC cable.

Are you connecting the Ethernet cable into the Extreme Network Card? If yes, try to plug it into the LAN1 Ethernet port, instead.

    Tube pre amplifiers

Thank you for sharing your experience. The thing is that the iTron amps only have XLR inputs. So I need a preamp with balanced outputs. Not sure if the topology circuit of the VAC Master outputs are true balanced ones or made from single ended internal components, maybe someone can enlighten me...

    Tube pre amplifiers

+1 New in tube gear, after SS ones or direct MSB output, all my life. IIRC once had a BAT and a Thorens that didn't impressed me much. Not this time. Dived into a VAC Master. Absolutely wonderful. I'm engaged into the music as never before and the source is only a 1996 CD player, in the...

-Analogue balanced out (XLR) -Volume control These items are the ones I will be looking forward the most, and where my highest expectations are. The Taiko environment/culture/ecosystem. Cheers to that Emile!

Significant SQ step up with XDMS-NSM December backend update, not a flavour thing. Independently from each one’s ears/system/room it gets us closer to the recording venue. Bravo Ed and software Taiko Team. Thank You all. It was a fun and knowledgeable year. Happy New Year and keep up the...

    The new MSB Technology Forum

If you want try this first, with the devices you already have, only for streaming: skip out the Rock, in a Android device install Bubble UPnP, assuming that you have a Qobuz account, for instance, select you V2 module as Renderer and play streamed files. Compare to your previous setup and access...

    The new MSB Technology Forum

Go with the ProUSB first, like bryans explained. It betters the Renderer V2. Then , if you’re satisfied, go to a better USB streamer output card. To do the test, remove the Renderer module from your DAC, which is a noisy PC.

Introducing Olympus & Olympus I/O - A new perspective on modern music playback

That was what I was expecting from the shared information by Taiko, during all this time of development. Now we see that the development went a different route, for the better SQ no doubt but, also, at a higher price league out of my reach. Let’s see if they achieve the promised interface...

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Mail sent. Waited 5 minutes. In 4 the job was done. Emile, the MAN himself, performed the task. XDMS only user. This is a true step up in SQ.
