Far from naive,....some things are not worth the battle.
I've been here 11+ years, I am very much aware this is not AA and am aware of the surroundings.
@Macattack Craig, the room looks fantastic in the new paint and finish scheme. Congratulations on the
upgrade to the Kharma's, the K-50, the new digital cable(s) and all else!
Based upon how great your prior config sounded in that room before the upgrades with the SF Strads (which I've
never...
Personally, I hope that any forum would run with mutual respect and camaraderie fueled by mutual love for audio and music and there would be little need for moderation at all, so I agree with you there. I am honored by the request to help out and am glad to help if and when necessary.
As an...
Hello! It was dinner in Munich with you and other WBF friends and I remember well! You are right, that is definitely "c.v. worthy!" :)
Unfortunately I had to cancel my plans this year; still recovering from some health issues that have me unable to walk much so Next Year!!!
Thank you all....
Tvad: it's been a long time, great to hear from you.... we don't have to shovel or snow-blow warm, cold or rain :) Been there, done that LOL.
Thank you Rex! I did too and will not wonder about their effectiveness any longer,...they work beyond promise and the price, in this hobby of crazy prices, is a welcome surprise (about 4K USD).
Just completed a major upgrade in terms of totally decoupling an almost 300 lb speaker that stands 6 feet 1 inch tall from the room to eliminate the prodigious amounts of energy this speaker can produce from feeding into the floor and subfloor (and crawlspace under house) and ultimately feeding...
Mike,
I do agree that "Its the guys RETURNING stuff that are treated with grace and respect that separate the dealers IMHO.", add in "guys having issues with "stuff"....
For this situation that I was referring to, there was no guarantee of any purchase when such a trip was made, and no sale...
I've enjoyed your channel for many years particularly in the last year or so where you are spending much more time on your own setup, the design, build and system choosing aspects. I've also been a fan of NAT amps sound for many years and regret they don't match the
direction I've taken for my...
ALF,....a friend here locally had a similarly great experience with Bob and wound up very happily making a rather large upgrade
to both Alsyvoxx and Pilium offerings. I don't know Bob at all however from what this gentleman related to me, it was first class
customer service and a great...
@marty @Kingrex
Marty,
Apologies for the late posts,...CONGRATULATIONS on elevating the playback quality of your system with all of these electrical foundational changes. Rex is a great guy and extremely knowledgeable I've found over the years. My plan is do similar work here proportional...
Mike, thank you for the great coverage in photo and all the commentary!
I've heard JMF Audio several times including Munich in 2019,....they definitely do things differently and do have "that talk track..."
however the sound of their gear and speakers I have already found very, very impressive...
There is no sliding portion on the QR or QR-s cables that I am aware of and my QR-s that I purchased earlier this year certainly does not have it.
The only 'adjustable' aspect is where you place the 3 cable lifters that come with every Omega power cable.
Chorus: Agreed on Salks being good; I've always liked them as well. A brand I forgot to mention, Eggleston Works has always
sounded good to me all the way back to the first time I heard the Andra I model and since with the improvements in the Andra II,
then III and the next level-up Savoy SE...
I agree with you kenny123 on that and are there are those that face constraints. Also, the truth is, going back a few years there were not many high quality 50-ohm cables. At that time we have Esoteric Mexcel 8N-A2000 (an excellent cable, owned 2) 50-ohm, Evolution Acoustics 50-ohm, and a very...
Check out Legacy Audio Caliber XD with Wavelet. Other choices are Legacy Audio Focus XD with Wavelet or SE without.
All reasonable money and high on the music quality per dollar ratio scale.
Both; varying degrees of impact.
People tend to focus on square versus sine wave, using that to argue the point, and yes, I do get the difference certainly.
It "may" matter less with sine wave than square (stress this word as those who have said that had a long way to go to prove it so I...
Best think about breaking in clock and other digital cables is that they are "always on, always routing clock sync" so you can literally just hook them up and let the transport + DAC, etc...idle 24x7 or also spin tunes (or stream) with low or no volume.
