On my VPI Aries with a JMW 10 arm, turning the VTA knob clockwise, lowers the arm, and turning it counter-clockwise raises the arm which is what my user manual states. The opposite of what you state.

Tiger - Goin' Down Laughing (UK, 1976)
Possibly one of the most overlooked and forgotten albums in prog rock history. Tiger features Big Jim Sullivan, the greatest session guitarist ever in the UK. He apparently gave guitar lessons to Jimmy Page and Richie Blackmore. I have seen...

Druid - Toward The Sun (1975)
Many dismiss this band as a generic Yes clone. Although nothing too challenging or adventurous, but I think this a very enjoyable album. Lots of mellotron and beautiful vocals from Dane.
Back in the late 60's and early to mid 70's, CHUM-FM was one of those progressive stations that played all kinds of weird & wonderful stuff. The DJ's had pretty much free reign to play anything remotely related to rock. My young ears heard some amazing prog back then. I'll never forget when they...
Another Italian prog monster is IL Rovescio Della Medaglia - "Contaminazione" from 1973. I have never heard a better union of rock & classical. This blew my teenage mind when I first heard it on a local Toronto FM station back in 1974.
I have the recent vinyl reissue on Polydor. It's available from importcds for $18!

Locanda Delle Fate - Forse Le Lucciole Non Si Amano Piu (Italy, 1977)
An absolutely gorgeous album. One of my favorite Italian prog albums. Beautiful romantic classically influenced compositions, rich instrumentation (flute, acoustic, 12 string & electric guitar, Hammond organ...
I wished I'd have grabbed your 2CD set years ago when I had the chance Ken. Any idea how the recent Esoteric reissue sounds? It's 2 CD set with the 1975 live album on the 2nd CD.
Been a member here for a while but have only posted once. As I have lots of prog vinyl & CD's, figured I should contribute.
Just finished listening to this great German prog album from 1976...
