    Orotofon MC Anna Diamond cartridge

I am now still loading at 100 ohms and 2.4g. I have tried 50 ohms for a short while, seems to have more body in female vocals but has revert back to 100 ohms.

    Orotofon MC Anna Diamond cartridge

Anna Diamond was installed on Friday evening. My XP27 was loaded at 100 ohms and gain set at highest 76db. It is still less than 10 hours and both my dealer and I was impressed with the sound. It is very refined, fast and dynamic. The mids and highs seems to be more open than my previous...

    Orotofon MC Anna Diamond cartridge

After deliberating for a while, I decided to go for the Anna Diamond. I hope I made the right choice to change from Clearaudio Titanium V2 after using it for a few years. My friend said, we all need a change of flavour/taste. My dealer will be setting it up on Friday. May I know what is the...

    Orotofon MC Anna Diamond cartridge

Thank you for your advise. I have heard positive comments and recommendations from friends using diamond cantilever but have not personally tried one in my setup. My dealer happens to carry Anna Diamond, Clearaudio and Koetsu Stone cartridge including the Carnelion with diamond cantilver...

    Orotofon MC Anna Diamond cartridge

I am deciding whether to get a GF Statement or a Anna Diamond. Previously I was using the Clearaudio Titanium V2. I am wondering which one should I get. I just got my SME 30/12 with V12 recently. Any advice is much appreciated.

Speakers for Pass Labs Electronics ?

Passlabs amps can work with many speakers. A friend has a pair of XS monos to drive his WAMM Master Chronosonic and a pair of X600.8 to drive the WAMM Master subsonic and previously I was using XA100.8 driving Sonus Faber Amati Futura and later SF Lilium.

Advice appreciated (SF guarneri Tradition, Focal and others )

From those friends and the local dealers who helped with the setup of the subwoofers, the consensus is that double subs are better and it is mandatory to have an active crossover to interface between the main speakers and subs. Of course placement of the subs is important as well.

Advice appreciated (SF guarneri Tradition, Focal and others )

Hi LL21, most of my friends setup are using 2 subwoofers. I did not remember how they set the crossover but I can remember they were using the JL Audio CR-1 Active Crossover. One of the good friend upgraded to Wilson XVX about a year ago and more recently early this year changed to WAMM Master...

    Gryphon Mephisto Stereo

No, have not decided yet. A few audiophile friends in Singapore have also recommended some platform. A friend using Vitus is using Critical Mass Maxxum and the results have been positive for him. Another friend also using Vitus recommended SRA. He is using the SRA Virginia Class Reference...

    Gryphon Mephisto Stereo

How do you use Stillpoints under the Mephisto? I checked the under chassis of the Mephisto and noticed there are many bolts/nuts. It will be difficult to rest the bottom chassis of the Mephisto on the Stillpoints Ultra.

Thanks and good to know Stacore can ship overseas. Will do more research on this.

    Gryphon Mephisto Stereo

Thank you for your recommendation. But being located in Singapore, it will be a problem as there is no dealer here and there is no way to audition. What about HRS, Critical Mass Systems or Finite Elemente?

    Gryphon Mephisto Stereo

Hi, just last week, I bought a Mephisto stereo amp replacing my Pass XA100.8. Due to the size and weight of the Mephisto, I am placing directly on the concrete floor without any platform or rack. What is the recommended placement for the Mephisto to achieve improvement in sound? Thanks.

Advice appreciated (SF guarneri Tradition, Focal and others )

I used to have a pair of Guarneri Homage (GH) (without sub) for many years before it was replaced eventually by Amati Futura. Futura sounded significantly better in my setup as compared to GH. It can play much louder without compression, better dynamics, better highs and lows and the scale is...

    Sonus Faber Lilium

Over the weekend, my dealer delivered a pair of Lilium replacing my Amati Futura. Out of the box, it sounded surprisingly good and it is significantly better than the Amati Futura. Just wondering any users of the Lilium has any advice to improve the sound of the Lilium such as replacing the...

The XP-27 has landed -- and it's staying right here!

Hi Peter, congrats for changing to the XP27 phono amp. Like you, I am enjoying every moment with this amp.

Pass Lab owners - Check in!

I had the Ref 6 for almost 9 months and the Ref 3 for 6 months. Both are very good amps and the final decision between Passlabs and ARC is depending on your taste. You won't go wrong with either of them.

Pass Lab owners - Check in!

Thanks Peter. My XP22 and 27 are more than 100 hrs already and I started serious listening after 100 hrs and did not notice much changes. Unlike ARC which probably need more than 500 hrs, Pass pre is much easier as I left my Network player streaming to it 24 hrs non stop for many days. Yes I...

    Pass Labs XP-22

I wrote to Pass concerning the above and received a reply from Nelson Pass and Kent English in a day or 2. Excellent customer service from Kent English and Nelson Pass himself. I thought I should share with all of you so that we can all learn. Nelson Pass - No real problem stacking the units...

Pass Lab owners - Check in!

Thank you. I can only describe the sound as a XP22 and XP27 combination as compared to Ref 6 and Ref 3 combination as most of my serious listening is on Vinyl. The Pass combo has a very quiet background as compared to ARC. Previously I was using Nagra BPS with Airtight ATC 2 pre. When it was...

Pass Lab owners - Check in!

    Pass Labs XP-22

I just ordered the Pass XP22 and XP27 to replace my ARC combo yesterday and both pre and phono will be delivered this coming Monday. I understand that the power supply units of both the above units should be placed separate from the main units. As I have limited shelf space for the units, I was...

ARC Ref 3 Phono or the new Pass XP27 phono

I bought a used Shunyata Zitron Hydra HC IEC 20 powercord early last week and when I connected it to the Ref 6 pre, the improvement is dramatic. The noise floor reduced significantly and the most obvious is that the whole system sounded so much more crisp and dynamic. It was so obvious when I...

ARC Ref 3 Phono or the new Pass XP27 phono

Yes, right now I am running a Nordost Valkyrja RCA from Ref 3 to the Ref 6 and the free PC from ARC. I plan to get a Nordost TYR2 or Yter XLR to replace the RCA and a better pwr cord which hopefully will reduce the noise and improve the sound. After listening over the weekend, the Ref 3 and...

ARC Ref 3 Phono or the new Pass XP27 phono

After talking to a few friends who owned the Ref10 phono and Pass XS phono and taking your advice and reading some reviews online, I went to my dealer yesterday and bought the Ref 3 phono without a demo. I did not regret my decision. Out of the box, it is excellent sounding. Everything is so...

Impressions, XP30 or AR REF6 PREAmp paired with PASS XA.8 Mono Amps

I have a ARC Ref 6 which I bought in Feb this year to replace my previous Airtight ATC2 pre. The ARC Ref 6 is an excellent matc with my Pass XA100.8 even fresh out of the box. Right now, it is about 60plus hrs and I am now contemplating to replace my phono with a ARC Ref 3 phono or the new...

ARC Ref 3 Phono or the new Pass XP27 phono

Hi, How would you describe the difference in sound between the ARC Ref 2 and XP25 even thought both are considered old models already? I will be keeping my TT setup for a while and it is difficult for me to audition both the Ref 3 and XP27 side by side. I listen mostly to rock, pop, female...

ARC Ref 3 Phono or the new Pass XP27 phono

I am looking for a new Phono amp to replace my existing Nagra BPS phono. Will the ARC Ref 3 or new Pass XP27 be alot better than the Nagra BPS? Which one would be a better phono to suit my system? Any comments or advice is much appreciated. Note - this is my 1st time posting as I am new to...
