    705 S2 Vs. 805 D3

How do these 2 models compare? While the 705 S2 cost $2,500 a pair, the 805 D3 cost $6K a pair. Do the 805 D3 sound that better in your opinion? Thanks for your input.:D

Hi guys, Have you guys have the opportunity to listen to both of these preamps? If you have, how do they compare? Thanks.:D

    A Great Solid State $5K ~ $7K Amp

I believe you, some gear audio doesn't work good together. Also depending of what sound quality you are coming from, one can get a bad taste of a particular amp, preamp, speaker, DAC, etc.

    A Great Solid State $5K ~ $7K Amp

Thanks though! No worries, no problem. Another thing tough, I guess we'll have an Audio show here in Orange county in June, I want to go to take a look of lots of good gear. Anyone here has more details about this audio show en Orange Country, CA? Thanks.

Thanks for your suggestion though, I'll take a look, I totally believe you. Sometimes a setup works perfect for some reason, so many factors involved, so complex, but at end we'll get it right.

    A Great Solid State $5K ~ $7K Amp

Thanks for your reply stephen_volker, I'm located in southern California. I'm shopping for a good amp/speaker combo, as a matter in fact I have a demo audition today near Beverly Hills. Still considering many options. I'm having lots of fun.:D I sent you a PM.

    A Great Solid State $5K ~ $7K Amp

Sorry, I meant the B&W 805 D3 bookshelf speaker, not the 803 D3 full 3 way. Yes, going the B&W 805 D3 plus 2 subwoofers route is a great idea, complex to do but would save me lots of money. The B&W DB2D subwoofers are $7K for the pair and they have the same identical drivers of the 800 D3...

    A Great Solid State $5K ~ $7K Amp

Thanks for your suggestion though, I was just talking today with a guy who has the 7B3 monos 600 watts for $12K, he was talking me out of the 4B3, he says that the 7B3 is much, much better amp. Well, it doubles the power of the 4B3 and of course doubles the money; way out of my initial budget...

    A Great Solid State $5K ~ $7K Amp

Wow! you are really committed to this amp! This is great! :D Nice setup! Well, I try not to have a weak link in the whole system. Even a bad cable, interconnect or weak connection makes a difference in a complex sound system though. Thanks for your kind offer but I live in southern...

PS Audio Stellar M700 Mono amp

Do you guys have any opinions about this amp? Any kind of experience with this amp? I'm told it is a great amp, 350 watts mono, no heat, great sound, very light weight, Thanks.

    If you could..what would you......??

    If I could, I'd get the B&W 800 D3 ($30K) with the Bryston 28B3 mono 1,000 watts ($22K) or the 803 D3 ($17K) with the Bryston 7B3 mono 600 watts ($12k) I guess with $100K I'd be OK including a good Turntable, a good Preamp, a good DAC for 24/96 audio files, speaker cables, interconnects and a...

    Suggestions for a Newbie

Hi Jester, I understand your feeling. My first audio system that I had back in 1977 was a Panasonic radio & tape recorder one speaker only. Of course I was a young boy and was very happy, now I have 3 audio setups, giving a look at the Bryston 28B3 monos 1,000 watts $22K and I'm not that happy...

    A Great Solid State $5K ~ $7K Amp

Don't get me wrong, I love tube sound, but I love great SS also I was reading about these Tube amps, wow! they look very impressive in paper, I'd love to give them a listening to see if they pass my ears test. They cost about $6.6K, they are not cheap either!:D Can you please describe them...

    A Great Solid State $5K ~ $7K Amp

Thanks for your info. I have listened to the $30K B&W 800D3 paired with the Bryston 28B3 mono 1,000 watts, $22K a pair and I was very impressed how good these babies sound. This is a little bit out of my budget for now, so I have to try the 803D3 ($17K) and the Bryston 4B3 300 watts Stereo...

    A Great Solid State $5K ~ $7K Amp

Thanks Steve! You are right, most of my jazz music sounds great in my tube amp. Of course a great singer, a good $20K Spanish classical hand made guitar with Nylon strings, a great violin, etc. sound amazing, but some times in the same album some songs or musical arrangements sound much better...

    A Great Solid State $5K ~ $7K Amp

Thanks Alex, Yes, I have heard great thinks about the JC1, I had the Parasound A21 in my room and I liked some things that did right, but not enough to buy it. Did not pass my ears test. I'll give a try to those that you suggested me.

    A Great Solid State $5K ~ $7K Amp

Thanks for your suggestion! Very interesting integrated amps though. I was doing some research about them and even as used ones are very expensive. I wish I could listen to them before buying. Dumping $7K ~ $10K for used amp is not that wise. I saw a used Mark Levinson 331 for $3.5K, (I don't...

    A Great Solid State $5K ~ $7K Amp

Hi all, I'm in the market looking for a great SS amp that would drive effectively speakers ranging from a low end Paradigm Mini Monitor V 7 ($500), Prestige 15B ($1,600) to the B&W 803 D3 ($17K) for an upgrade. I don't want a SS amp that generates too much heat as I already have a tube amp...
