I listened to Sinatra and Milstein with the DaVa Ref Stereo cart (phono switched to mono) and I would say it's very good, and if you didn't compare to the DaVa Mono, you would have no complaints. Same musicality and tone, but the mono delivers just a little bit more of everything - more vibrato...
DaVa Mono (DVM) has barely a few hours but Darius said it should take less time to settle compared to the Ref Stereo, whilst my Miyajima Infinity Mono (MIM) has been well seasoned. Some initial impressions from listening to these four great sounding mono records with both DVM and MIM...
DVM is...
DaVa Mono 1mm just arrived and installed. What an amazing sound from the very first note - and in time for Christmas. Same signature sound as the DaVa Reference Stereo - musical, full bodied, rich, and with plenty of micro-details for a mono. Well done Darius!
Many thanks to Leif for starting this thread and everyone who has contributed. I ordered the Dava Reference on 10 Aug'22 from Hong Kong and received 27 Dec'22 delivered to my new home in Tokyo on schedule. I think it sounds amazing straight out of the box (very organic, great highs but also with...
Some pictures for you Peter. "Stock OMA feet" are nothing more than studs with M6 thread. No feet recommendations provided, but I tried Cerabase Classic, Audio Replas, Track Audio, in addition to the studs. All gave different results, with the Track Audio feet producing the preferred sound for...
The Dereneville motor comes with 24V LPS and maintains speed accuracy better - less wow & flutter. Original motor runs quieter, whilst Dereneville with Papst motor is audible within 2 feet. However, Dereneville helps to lower noise floor and can hear more micro detail. For me - an overall...
Haha - I'm quite a tweaker and like to experiment with different platforms (air/Minus-K/other), isolation feet ... Each TT has its strengths and can be optimised through tweaks - at least for my ears. JC Verdier is very musical; SX8000 is solid and majestic - great for small and large scale...
Hi Mike, we have an Etsuro dealer in Hong Kong. After reading yours and other WBF comments on the Etsuro Gold, I went to the dealer to have a listen. He had the Etsuro Bordeaux mounted on a Groove Master II Banana tonearm playing on a JC Verdier TT. That sounded very good already. The dealer had...
I have a Micro Sekei CU-180 mat and it does sound good on the OMA SP-10R. Spoilt for choice, and having experimented with a few other mats, I currently prefer the OMA Graphite mat With this turntable. For me, music is more fluid and notes more punctuated if that makes sense.

nomI haven’t.
I have a MBL Preamp as well. However - for me the Emia is more transparent and revealing. Also very natural and musical. I’ve also tried a Thomas Mayer line stage in my system and it did sound very nice, but a little more coloured than the Emia.
Thanks for confirming Marcin. I’m planning to reinstall an older verson of the Amanero Firmware (2002b) to enable JPlay + KS, unless there are any other workarounds.
Hi fellow Pacific Owners. I’ve just moved from a LINUX server to a Windows 10 server. Curious how owners with Windows 10 servers are connecting to the Pacific via Amanero USB. I’ve started experimenting with Roon with WASAPI, ASIO and also JPlay with KS. There are lots of settings to play with...
YH Audio (www.yhanalog.com) has a motto saying “Once I was blind, but now I see”. My experience today was indeed an eye opener, or rather ear opener. Definitely much more musical and dynamic than my digital front-end (Antipodes DX3 + Lampizator Pacific). Great soundstage and PRaT.
I have the Artisan Silver Nth Degree with XLR Furutech plugs. They are really good for the price and were better in my system than both the Wireworld Platinum Eclipse and MIT Oracle interconnects.
I have been enjoying the top Artisan Silver cables in my system. Very transparent and revealing. Tested the Tchernov Ultimate cables (interconnects and speaker cables) and experienced improvements in breadth and depth of soundstage, control and accuracy - in particular bass, and more engaging...
Very helpful. I’ve heard the Kalista on another system and is very good - so your comments place SGM very high. Wonder how it would sound with 512 DSD upsampling
Am new to this forum and have been reading reviews of SGM 2015. Now with EVO, would like anyone’s views of SGM compared to mid/high end CD Transports of similar price. I have a Lampi GG DAC and also considering upgrading to the new Pacific DAC.
