Hi Don
As far as I can tell there are no special needs, I suppose mainly due to the actual weight of both Standard Max and Reference. They both sit on standard tables without any additional treatment. Wooden floor in both rooms, laid directly on concrete.
I have both the Standard Max (with KV12 Max) and the Reference (Kuzma Safir 9). I could have easily lived with the Standard Max, but I could not resist getting the Reference which is clearly the better turntable - not by a huge margin, but quite simply the more convincing overall package with...
J. Sikora KV12 Max tonearm with Lyra Etna Lambda SL now in my second system on J. Sikora Standard Max: what an incredible upgrade from the standard KV12 which, no doubt, is an excellent tonearm. However, the Max version tops it in every respect thanks to its pure, detailed, powerful and...
Thank you very much. Originally I was a little worried about the combination with the Impera, but it shows they are a perfect match! Compared with the Conceros 65 sound has improved incredibly in transparency, authority and 3D imaging. Congratulations to Stavros on another outstanding product.
Although the Sikora KV12 is an excellent tonearm, with all due respect, the Safir plays in a different league with so much more authority, resolution, stage, 3D and detail. I could imagine, however, that the new KV MAX series (which I have not heard yet) might be able to at least reduce the gap...
I‘ve had the Safir 9 for three months, mounted on the J. Sikora Standard Max before, changed to J. Sikora Reference today. Safir works excellent on both combos, added an incredible amount of substance, depth and transparency. Reference with Safir and Lyra Atlas Lambda SL to me are a perfect match.
My impression: Safir 9 and Lyra Atlas Lambda SL are a perfect match, however I don’t have any experience with other cartridges on the Kuzma. Although I was very happy with the J. Sikora KV12 (already with the Atlas Lambda), which I stilll consider an excellent tonearm, I just felt and was pretty...
This is just a quick word to congratulate Franc Kuzma. I have been enjoying his Safir 9 tonearm for a week. It‘s exceeding my high expectations by far: what an extraordinary achievement. Thank you!
No, I had DS Audio W2 for about a year. After a direct comparison with the then newly introduced Lampizator Vinyl Phono MC I and Lyra Kleos I decided to leave the optical path for lack of natural and organic tone. Next steps were upgrades to Lyra Atlas Lambda SL and Aries Cerat Talos Reference...
