Wadia has a legendary history. Never heard a bad word said against them. Has anyone done a comparison of the series 9 against more recent manufacturers’ wares or against the s7i?
Will be very happy to discuss this issue when you show how much you pay for the item and reveal your invoices, what the Netherlands VAT is minus USA VAT and shipping cost. The voltage conversion costs nothing more as it is simply a switch setting on the PCB. Are you willing to reveal your...
Their gear is epic no doubt but Spectral are unresponsive and the European dealer is price-gouging. The big concern after ARC failing, is what will happen when the two men that run Spectral pass away. They’re already old men. Would I want to drop €37,000 ($40,000) with that lack of clarity. It’s...
I’m not sure the manufacturer is really shedding light on any of the scepticism here. Every few months, a new kid on the block arrives purporting to have made a breakthrough that has confounded others for years/decades but I don’t see any evidence of anything groundbreaking here with respect to...
Weiss - one of the few honest audio engineering companies left. Their work is exemplary and free of the usual grandiose marketing bull that sucks in well heeled middle aged upgraditis audiophiles that have superhuman hearing and like to buy billet slabs of hifi weighing double figure kilogram...
Can you recommend a cheaper and better value for money MULTICHANNEL DAC with Roon or alternative streaming built in please? I’m hunting for such a device and the Nadac player ticks all these boxes but as you say it’s a big box with empty spaces abs cheap parts.
I’m beginning to question why anyone would buy a new piece given they drop dealers and then of late seem to be completely uncommunicative. Nail in the coffin for me with Spectral. No customer care and support means zero sale. Time to move on. What a shame.
I don’t have a local dealer and tried for weeks and can’t reply. Have they moved premises and failed to update their details?
I’m not the only one that’s been trying to reach them for weeks.
What’s with their website that’s out of date by 2 years?
What an abnormal way to do business.
Any updates on what is happening at Spectral Audio - have they retired, are they open or closed, did they move and why are they unresponsive?
Do they have any dealers in Toronto, Canada please?
Posted elsewhere but sadly, little feedback. I think WbF members here would have more experience

Can someone please clarify the following question. I am not an electronics engineer or a manufacturer of hi-fi equipment. I’m finding this rather puzzling. My understanding was that Kondo of...
I pointed out to the German dealer that it would be cheaper for me to fly to New York and buy a Spectral CD player at less than half price compared to their price in Euros and save myself the equivalent of $20,000. I got no reply. It’s just greed, pure and simple. Sitting on your backside...
I’m after the CD player first and then a preamp. I’ve seen the voltage changes to jumpers that can be made but would love to know how to do a voltage change to the CD player. In Europe the CD player costs
€36000 but in the USA it is almost 50% of this price. I don’t understand how European...
I concur. Tried to get into Spectral but with no UK dealer the prices in Europe are more than twice the USA prices. You could buy twice the equipment. Nothing wrong with Spectral. It’s European dealer greed. Shame. In the end it will eventually kill off Spectral’s presence outside of the US.
I am considering flying to the US to buy and pick up some Spectral equipment. Will start with SDR-4000SV and later the preamp. When I return home, the voltage is twice that of the USA so will need a voltage conversion system. The reason for this endeavour are:
There are no Spectral dealers in...
I’ve been looking into Spectral for the last couple of years but there is no UK dealer and the dealers in Europe charge almost double which is incomprehensible/greedy and out of the league of most mortals. The only chance is to fly to the US by the units would be US voltage not European voltage...
“Far out”. Is that “far out” as in something a Californian surfer would say, or does a dealer mean a DAC is far away perhaps years and years away? The two leads of Spectral are in their 70s. What will happen to this company, their vision and the servicing?
Between 2015 and 2017, I spent weekends visiting dealers around the UK. I was open-minded to all and everything. Was lucky enough to listen to a wide variety of gear and met so many dealers and personalities. I heard Sonus Faber, Audio Research, Tron, Kondo, Magico, Focal, Naim, Devialet, DCS...
How about a Beosound Core for £600/$600?
It will stream from streaming services and present the ripped files from your CDs. It has an integrated DAC but if you prefer to use your own DAC it equipped with a Toslink out.
I’ve gone back to CDs after fondling with streaming. Missed them so much. I would love that CD player but may be second hand used or exdemo in 20 years from now.
