    Harbeth Monitor 40.2

i dont know. i know cornwalls had a nice bass but from forums lascalas bottom end isnt as good.

    Harbeth Monitor 40.2

i dont think i would be interested in listening to stacked lascalas - thanks for the offer. 30.7 maybe if Melb wasnt in lock down.

    Harbeth Monitor 40.2

Cornwalls and ATC/Dukes have diff signatures. test over 12 speakers a few years back including 20.7, etc and really only 4 gave me the sound that i was looking for (40.2 being the 4th).

    Harbeth Monitor 40.2

thought it might have been you. my final three speakers was the Cornwalls, ATC 150/100 actives and my Dukes.

    Harbeth Monitor 40.2

only draw backs with 30.7 is you need a massive room and big power amps.

    Harbeth Monitor 40.2

ive heard the 20.7 - love the sounds stage and quickness but thats about it. Ive heard the Cornwalls - wow the lively sound. Heard that the lascalas lack bass.

Full range speakers or not and how loud

for me in regards to the use of floor space, i would take floor stands over stand mounts with sub woofers. imo the later system takes more space and even more fine tuning to your room.

    Tinnitus and our hobby.

just learn to live with it. for me some days are better than others. the bad days i just dont listen to music.

B&W Speakers. Room size and recommended components for DM603 S2 Anniversary Ed., 702 S2 and eventually 803 D3.

im afraid recievers (japs ones) never to a stereo system justice. just too under powered. get a nice integrated amp. if i was you i would audition more speakers. especially other brands. as this may change your mind about B&W.

Orchestra in a small room - Is it possible?

my room is a similar size. imo the room needs to be treated adequately. in a small room sound absorbers / bass traps a critical to making a large soundstage. Though i am still running in my gear.

    thats my new lounge chair

Fabric or Leather Upholstery for Listening Chair?

ideally fabric, but my new listening chair is leather. imo more importantly is not to have a head rest near your ears. my recliner when reclined the head rest is below my ears. super comfortable which is even more important.

Looking For The Perfect Listening Chair

i just got delivered a Lay-Z-Boy Taylor. the top of the chair when reclined to a comfortable listening position is just over my shoulder level. Super comfy. looks like everyone has their choice and they are all great imo.

Does "competes with much more expensive" actually exist?

to me its all about the synergy of a system. yeh you read / hear about giant killers and they can be great. but in your system will that component sound great?? are you happy with your system or are you constantly chasing the next best thing?

Best Amp - Speaker Combination you've ever Heard.

for my it would have to be the Hulgich Dukes with Audio GD components. thats why i ordered this setup. but came very close to purchasing the ATC 150 actives.

    ATC speakers

imo the Dukes are more neutral in the mid range in regards to the 150s i did consider them at one point but from advice they need a large room which i dont have and they actually dont extend much lower bass. apparently more control in the lower frequencies.

    ATC speakers

ive heard the current ATC 100 actives and the older 50 passives. the 100 actives was much better. i listened to them in a private session in a large room and all i can say i loved them. love them so much i almost purchased them (came close second).

High-end Speakers V Headphone - you kidding me....

for me the biggest factor headphones compared to speakers is that i can never get the impression of a large soundstage. ive always felt the soundstage on headphones is about an inch from my head.

High-end Speakers V Headphone - you kidding me....

last time i listened to a good set of head phones was at my friend's place with his LCDx. for the short time i listened to them they sounded great but compared to his new speaker system is really unfair. the speaker is more dynamic. the bass went down with authority with chest pump feeling. the...
