New Miyajima Madake questions and impressions....
The XV-1s is an amazing all around performer. If you rated everything you were looking for in a cart on a 1-10 scale it would score in the 7-9 range on just about everything and honestly I kind of regret selling it. New Miyajima Madake questions and impressions....
I had a Madake once, not the Snakewood, at the same time I had a XV-1s and I also found the sound wanting. Tried it with and without a step-up and couldn't tell what the big deal was about this cart. I do think that a heavier arm would've helped now that I have a couple Koetsu's that benefitted...- earl3090

Bartolo, I have a Vermillion, Onyx Platinum and XV-1t (had a XV-1s for a long time). The presentation of each is very different so you should try to listen to both if you can. I talked to Steve Leung of VAS and he told me not to worry about it. I have a Vermillion so I'm familar with the sound in general. I've mounted it to a DS Audio headshell today, not the headshell pictured here but it sounds really good. Waiting to here back from Koetsu.- earl3090

I wouldn’t think so either, but possibly from over tightening the screws in a headshell or tonearm. I picked up a used Onyx Platinum that has a crack in it, sounds amazing. It’s only 4 months old so I have a ticket in with Mofi thru the original owner to see if Koetsu will fix it under warranty...- earl3090

I have a Raven AC with (2) arms on the two back posts, the second arm was simple enough to add but I want to add a 3rd arm to the front right post which is above one of the (3) footers.
