    Upgrade turntable or tonearm?

I am tending more towards upgrading the TT to the AF3P. I think the 4P9 is an excellent arm, but I have a slight preference for 4P11 (I like the VTA on the fly option). I would keep the 4P11 and the Glanz, although I may trade that up for the MH1200S.

    Upgrade turntable or tonearm?

The Stabi-R is excellent. I prefer it to the SME 20/3, which can make records sound a bit dead/flat (it definitely benefits from a more 'lively' cartridge). Will be very interesting to hear your thoughts - I could well end up doing same!

    Upgrade turntable or tonearm?

I currently run three turntables (SME 20/3 with series V tonearm, Kuzma Stabi-R with two tonearms - 4P11 and 4P9 - and PTP Lenco with a Glanz 94S) and I have decided it is time to consolidate. The plan is to sell the SME, PTP Lenco and 4P9 tonearm and probably to keep the Stabi-R to run with the...

    Kondo vs Allnic

I came close to purchasing the ARC 3SE (natural match for my ARC pre and power) but an extremely good value H8000 came available after the dealer was looking to sell to make way for the new H10000. Price was too good to refuse. I’m absolutely blown away by the H8000.

I have just purchased the H8000 - which is just extraordinary. I’m interested in your comment. What higher quality tubes do you recommend?

    advice sought, turntables $10-20k

STST with Schroeder and Soundsmith should be a fantastic combination. Apparently STST are Peter Ledermann's favourite turntables. The Soundsmith room at Munich last year featured two of them: https://parttimeaudiophile.com/2023/05/26/the-soundsmith-system-munich-2023/

Best amplification for Wilson Audio Sascha DAW

I own Audio Research Ref6SE pre and 160S power and it is a wonderful match for my Sashas (had DAWs up until last month, now have Sasha Vs). Couldn’t be happier. ARC are great for open, airy and layered sound - perfect for long listening. Definitely worth adding to your shortlist to demo

Analogue Heaven in Paris - My Visit to Ana Mighty Sound

Really interesting report - I love reading these (I keep saying to François that I will make it to Paris to visit, but I have yet to do so. My wife is concerned that I may end up remortgaging the house to buy a full Anamighty set up! Whereas I feel it would be money well spent...) Out of...

Munich show 2023 Hifideluxe and MOC .

I am big fan of DeVore speakers. I think the Os are superb (so much so I have a pair of the O/96s on order) but I always find the DeVore booth at Munich struggles to show their magic. I popped in twice this year and heard both the O/baby and Micr/O. I thought the latter sounded better than the...

    Whither Audio Research

It seems to me a generalisation too far to say ‘tubes are dead’ because of difficulties felt by ARC, the full reasons for which are still not fully known. There is clearly still a market for tube based audio products. The success of PrimaLuma at the more affordable end of the market and very...

I own and love my ARC Ref 6SE and 160S. I had been planning to add the 3SE Phono to my setup shortly before the news that ARC had gone into administration . Like most of the good people here on this forum, I was deeply sadden to learn that ARC was suffering difficulties. I had no idea. And it...
