Melco N1-S38 Melco's New Reference Server

It's just that reading your first post, some might thing you can add a clock to the N10 directly, as you state ". I have the N10 connected to a Mutec Ref 10 120SE, which also feeds a SOtM network switch." And obviously you don't.

Melco N1-S38 Melco's New Reference Server

As said you can't re clock a melco N10 directly, and you certainly aren't doing that as you have stated above. You could exactly the same with the new melco n1, and the only way to compare them, like for like.

Melco N1-S38 Melco's New Reference Server

You can't connect an external clock to the N10, it's only the new n1 that has a clock connection.

Why doesn’t dCS partner with CH Precision for transports?

I believe most dCS transports are sold to China, and around that area these day's. Not that many being sold in percentage to the dac's, so how big the market is for a very expensive cd transport these day's is a question. I am sure dCS could make one, but probably not a good financial decision...

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Not interested in roon at all, as tried that twice now, and both times found it worse than qobuz when streaming the exact same track.

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Been trying to find more reviews on owners with dCS kit. Been looking on the dCS forum, and others, getting very mixed results. I guess the only way is to try for myself, but before I go asking dealer for a home demo, can I ask vivaldi apex dac owners what exactly did they find inpoved once they...

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Hi Thanks for the answers, I appreciate you taking the time to answer them. I guess the next step is to try one in my system. But I think going by the answers, I could sell my melco N10 to help fund this, and use the disc drive storage in the extreme? As it does have storage doesn't it, or can...

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Hi you lot, can I ask a few questions please as I am sure you lot will soon answer them. I have a dCS vivaldi dac and upsampler, plus a melco N10 that I have all my cd's ripped on. Questions. I take it I wouldn't need the melco any more, and I can transfer over easily. Going forward can you...

DCS Users, How do you stream?

Just to add, I have found roon slightly less dynamic and closed in sounding to qobuz, when compared to streaming the same track either using a roon nucleus against using the dCS streamer in the vivaldi upsampler. Don't know how the streaming part compares in the vivaldi upsampler against say...

DCS Users, How do you stream?

I also have the apex vivaldi dac and upsampler, no clock as yet. I use mosaic through ethernet into a phoenixnet switch before it goes to the upsampler, this sounds great and was better than using a roon nucleus. I also have a cisco switch doing the main switching in another room. Having heard...

Dangerous topic, so I'd like to be very specific...DCS Rossini vs. Otari (or any) Reel-to-Reel...real comparisons?

I know it's not plug and play that's why I borrowed a very nice and well set up machine, as I didn't want to jump in on it and find the results not to my liking. As I said if the very expensive master tapes you can buy these days rock your boat, then I can see a purpose for owning a good quality...

Dangerous topic, so I'd like to be very specific...DCS Rossini vs. Otari (or any) Reel-to-Reel...real comparisons?

Well I was looking at going into the reel 2 reel rabbit hole, as like you was told its the best thing since sliced bread. I also have a dCS rossini and clock, plus a well sorted Internet connection and melco N10. I tried a revox Pr99 that had just been serviced and checked over and apparently in...
