Thank you guys. So I have been reading about TT mats, and have been running both of my tables with Acrylic platters. I prefer the sound that way. From what I have read, the Acrylic platter is the best way to play vinyl.
After a lot of looking around etc. I have decided that i am going to just upgrade to the Ethos SE cart. I have one on order. Will give impressions once i have some time with it.
You can really get lost in reviews opinions and comparing prices. I may buy something more expensive down the road...
I took my volt meter, and determined the flow path through the power cord to each piece of gear when I installed the fuses. I followed the hot or line conductor if you will and all of my orange fuses went in the correct way according the SR site. it should flow from the S to the R side of the...
I have to say, just by adding the dedicated 20 amp cut for my system actually made the soundstage wider. I have noticed that when I listen to a large classical orchestra, or a Jazz selection. The sound stage changes with the recording. Some songs I can now hear guitars off to the wings that I...
I got to listen to a dealers system this past weekend, and I was extremely impressed. He is going to bring over his
Gutwire Vision Absolute Edition Speaker Cable For me to demo.
They retail for $11,500.00 CDN , which is a big commitment for me. So a few hours in home demo will be the judge...
The basement system was a complete headache the room is where frequencies go to die. I removed 80% of the drop in ceiling tiles and replaced them with reflective tiles, that made a big improvement. The amp is a Sugden IA-4 integrated amp, I am in love with Sugden class A sound. I tried every...
My journey has been an interesting one, I have built 2 systems at the same time in 2 completely different environments. This has taught me a lot about room materials and size and dynamics. The main floor listening room was the easiest of the 2, the room is 13x21 with an 8 foot ceiling, Large...
No there is nothing available around here to try. When I saw these for sale for 50% off and only being 1 year old I grabbed them. WireWorld pairs well with Sugden and Dynaudio. I am very happy with the results.
The More i play this system, the better it starts to sound. It seems different each time. I guess cables do take time to break in. The Wireworld cables have helped get me where i want to be in the end. I am so blown away by everything i have done, seems to have been in the correct direction. I...
I ran a single 12/2 Romex, with a 20 amp breaker. I added a Cardas Audio 4181 receptacle. have a Saturn 103 C power conditioner. I am running 2 Sugden class A MPA-4 mono blocks and all my gear with no issues. The entire system draws 10 amps when running. I am completely happy with the results.
I am an electrician since 1980, and have been in the electronics industry for the last 20 years. I am alway tweaking fixing or trying to learn about something. My Current occupation is installing and servicing single phase and 3 phase UPS power conditioners for computer rooms. data rm's etc. We...
Well things changed. I saw a pair used online, they were priced right, so I could not pass them up. They are a nice musical cable. The music is more bold and pronounced now. They didn't take anything away, they actually enhanced everything. Listening to Carmen Lundy right now WOW this CD will...
I waited 8 months for my Sugden mono blocks. When they got to mine, they took a week to build and a week to ship. The nice thing, is they are still hand built. Worth the wait.
Well this happened this afternoon. My Confidence 20's are gone and I am now the proud owner of the 30's. The difference between the 2 speakers is very noticeable. Going from a 2 way bookshelf which is a fine fine speaker, to a 3 way floor stander is just a thing of beauty. Very dynamic, very...
I have a 30 foot run in my house from the outlet to the breaker box. Yours will be 65 feet. not a big deal, be little to no voltage drop in that distance. I installed my self, a 20 amp square D- QO breaker, #12 NMD90 wire, and a Cardas 4181 receptacle. From the plug, I ran a WireWorld Silver...
I wont name drop because i don't want to tick off a manufacturer by saying their product wasn't great. I bought a component style power conditioner, and was very pleased with it. So i bought a second one for my basement system. As time went on i was curious about what was inside, so off one of...
My journey has taught me that the DAC is the meat and potatoes of the digital source. I messed around with a $400 DAC, then a $1000 DAC the sound improved. Then made the jump to an Aqua La-Voce S3 DAC. And that has been the end game. I then Stepped up to an Audiolab 6000 CDT. was a vast...
