Why not try Bryston 28 Cubed? Much less coin and so hard to beat.

ACC is a fantastic centre speaker. Somehow when I played my system it was the only speaker running in full mode. I was impressed with the full range it provided. Bass extension was beyond what I thought. It provides a seemless front soundstage with the A5’s. No discernible L/C/R separation...

    Magico A5?

Good question! I’ve listened to the 800d3’s many times at the dealer. Unfortunately they don’t sell Magico. The game changer was listening to both speakers on the same day using all Bryston gear like I have. Played the same songs on both that I play regularly. Coming off B&W 802N’s, I hoped the...

    Magico A5?

I have the A5’s and they needed a long time to break in. Sorry I have not compared to M2. But I have compared to 800D3. Same electronics although different rooms. I cannot say the A5’s are bright but that may be my room and electronics. Bass is outstanding. Strong and hits each variation in bass...

Muddy bass would be the last thing I would describe about the A5’s. I’m only using the provided spikes into carpet. So my experience might be very different.

Advice needed regarding Magico ACC and home theater setup.

For those running A5 and ACC in HT mode, what settings are you using for LCR bass cut off? I’m running LCR set to Large w/o any lower end cut off. All LFE goes to my sub. In this setup, the ACC really shines and produces very low end bass. Male vocals are amazing . Of course the A5’s are very...

14”. My dealer set them up personally. He used a Bosch laser measuring device for distance and proper toe in. My room is about 14’ deep, and that distance was best for my room.

I won’t go there listening to the new S3’s as they are beyond my price range. Instead I enjoy what I have now, the A5’s. Every day I’m always playing music. Each time I listen to music, I hear nuances never heard before. Even at low volumes and the imaging is there. You can be in any seat in...

I have not tried the amps listed above. I‘m running Bryston 28 Cube mono blocks that I have dedicated 20 amp circuits to each. I’ve played some very heavy bass tracks and they fully pressurize my room. Room size is 14x20 in a fully open concept home with 18’ ceiling. Sure my sub when I use in...

I went to. Magico dealer yesterday and heard the A3 for the first time. I was very impressed. I thought before actually hearing them, the bass would be lacking. No way!

Nice you had a chance to compare both. My dealer has both, although he pointed me to the A5’s. Yes, he mentioned M2 were better, but to him, not so much as maybe what you heard. He is a dealer and has access to some crazy high end gear which allows him to hear across all sorts of gear, cables...

I have not heard really good ported subs. I did look at Funk subs (sealed?) before deciding to go with the Sub 2 which of course is fully sealed also has the ARC/PBK room correction I had a big bass boost in my room 35–40Hz and ARC completely smoothed that out. The Sub 2 due to its compact...

Advice needed regarding Magico ACC and home theater setup.

Answering your question re ACC amp and processor I’m running a Bryston 6B SST, three channels, one for the center and other two for surrounds. 6B is rated over 500 watts so is move then enough power for the ACC. HT runs 80-90% to the center. ACC is a very special center. Same voicing as my...

Re: amps Look at the reviews on Magico and amp suggestions. They tend to use very good amps that drive down to 2ohm. A5’s will drop to that in the upper bass region. I‘m running mine with Bryston 28B3 mono blocks. Never had any issues with mid bass. Here’s another good review, amps they used...

Never heard of that CD. I ran Tidal Flac most songs had good low end. I guess I ran mine way beyond 400 hrs before running good hi quality songs, yes with strong bass. Then ran Sheffield drum tracks. My wife really likes them, not, Lol. Played when she was out. Btw, best I’ve ever heard these...

    Magico A5?

I got my A5’s in September and ran them everyday but not really loud. For me at first the bass was just not there, or at least had not much extension and impact. Highs and mids sounded great. It took to about end of December to break in the bass. I waited 9 months to take delivery and then...

    Magico A5?

Add to your post A5’s have the new crossover. A5’s are rated to handle 1,000 watts. I’m running Bryston 28B3 and really great sound levels can be attained. They can drive 4ohm loads right up to 1,800 watts. No idea what they can deliver when they drop down to almost 2ohms. Guessing not much...

    Magico A5?

So Magico maybe coming up with A3 variant that is better priced? A5’s are incredible. For me, I needed to rethink fully sealed speaker. The bass it provides is awesome. Follows every bass note. Before my old B&W’s just had somewhat bloated bass and never had the bass extension the A5’s have.

Magico A5s arrive at Rhapsody....color me confused;)

Having lots of time during the recent holidays to play everything from jazz, piano, trumpet, limited classical and great R&B. These speakers sing! Sometimes I sit off to the left of my speakers and still have incredible imagery. Played some bass songs and I cannot believe how strong the bass...

I guess my signature doesn’t come up. Here you go, Bryston SP3, BDP-2, BDA 3, 28B3, 6B SST, 4B SST, Paradigm Sub 2, B&W AM1x4, Magico A5, ACC, Sony A80J 77 All amps and sub (220v) running on 20amp circuits.

    Magico A5?

Any updates? My A5’s are far better than my 802N’s. Bass, tightness, imaging, vocals are just some aspects. Bass extension well below 802N. I found 801N too over the top in smaller areas. As mentioned, I listened to 800D3 and they didn’t have the same imaging as the A5’s. I don’t use a sub in...

Magico A5s arrive at Rhapsody....color me confused;)

My A5’s are very close to be broken in. I played a few heavy bass tracks and they shake the house! Imaging is incredible. Even when playing at low levels, the A5’s have lots of bass drive. Guessing it’s the Bryston 28B Cube that helps.

    High-end preamp/surround prosessor

Another consideration is how long it’ll take to arrive because a lot of the technology and parts are backordered for a long time. For example it took 9 1/2 months to get my speakers and they’re out of California. I’m in Canada.

Magico A5s arrive at Rhapsody....color me confused;)

I’ve watched a few movies 5.1, DTS. I have the matching ACC centre. The sound stage is awesome. Going to voices from centre and then audio back to LR is completely seamless. It’s incredible how important the centre speaker is for movies. They play a large role.

Lol, my dealer mentioned having too much to drink is the main culprit for blowing up drivers. But I do enjoy wine but still careful.

Magico A5s arrive at Rhapsody....color me confused;)

Thanks for the warning. I listen carefully to make sure the A5’s are not going into stress and watch my amps if they are clipping. While waiting for A5 to arrive, I used my bedroom speakers, Paradigm 8000f, cheapest line rated to max 150 watts. Many times I played them loud and never hurt them...
