    I would assume the biggest diff would be in the topology for the output scheme/tubes used. DHT circuit should be quite different. A possible analogy would be a v8 muscle car vs a high compression high HP inline 4 sports car.

    Yep, I would go with position 3 too. The Dac will auto-correct as long as the total power draw is 8w or less. 01A uses minimal amps so it will get its needed 5v. I will again test to see if PX25 sounds better on Position 2 or 3.

    I recently picked up a Soundcraftsmen EQ/Preamp/phonostage for a cheap price in Europe. In the US prices are dirt cheap on occasion. Look into that. With mild EQ corrections you can dial in the speakers to adjust for the room dynamics.

    Bal is only beneficial if your entire system is fully balanced, plus as Bonzo said, it’s more of a pain to roll 4 rather than 2 tubes. Bal Dac can run in SE mode of front tube pair are removed. On horizon you would remove the left pair, if I recall correctly.
